Those screenshots mean absolutely jack-diddly-squat. I don\'t care what EA thinks next-gen will look like by releasing renders. How about they show us a title that\'s actually work in progress?

I\'m fed up with these "predictions"...it\'s about time we see some real next-gen, in-game eye candy...

I think your taking this to seriously. I dont think much of the pictures as far as what future games could look like. However you have to admit that people have been waiting a long time for any sort of glimpse into the future of gaming...no matter how far stretched what is shown may seem. These let our imaginations roam a little bit. For instance when I see the Madden picture I immediatly think of what kind of gameplay mechanics and computer AI will be involved, the eye candy is nice but it helps us paint a picture of future games. I have no doubt in my mind that the games wont look like the ones above in realtime, the racing game is actually possible though if you consider how much Gran Turisimo actually looks like that picture.

They may be pre rendered shots, but most likely we will be seeing graphics like this by the END of next gen.  Very much so on pc anyway.   The next few years of gaming will indeed be interesting.

Those are some realistic football players... And cars.

Too bad we already have realistic football players and cars. I\'m ready for some good games now. :)

*thinks back some 5 years*

I might be totally wrong, but didn\'t EA also show similar pics of a NFL game before PS2 was released? I just somehow - faintly -  seem to remember seeing something like it before.

The car pic definately looks like something that could be done in realtime. The football screen does not. In fact, The football screen kind of reminds me of old CGI.

absolutely!..they had shots of the new madden on the cover of psm magazine...i agree with evi..those shots mean absolutely nothing...i mean when this generation of systems came out, we were saying the same thing we\'re sayin now in terms of graphics..

Well, colour me underwhelmed, especially the NFS picture. The Madden shot looks decent but it\'s not THAT good. I mean just look at det real-time tech demos from ATI and NVIDIA and their latest GPU\'s, they\'re not that much worse.
