Some downtime at work and my mind turned to Nintendo because I have some kind of unhealthy obsession.
Anyway, I\'m Nintendo and here\'s what I\'m preparing for the Revolution.
The controller (priced at $40ish) has a lit touch-screen about where the Xbox Communicator goes.
With the WiFi thing, it opens the door to compatibility or emulation with the DS and would make it a universal option for developers to get creative with the idea started with GBA/GCN.
But the first thing I would do is get to EA in time for the Madden launch title.
I would tell them I want their title to be the first killer app. WiFi play is a given, finally levelling the playing field among the systems.
But as Nintendo I tell EA I want the plays to be selected by touch on the touch screen. While that takes place, the tv can show the teams in a huddle or other cinematic sequences. Something that wouldn\'t be in the other versions.
I think this touch of privacy and the new cinematic options it brings to the screen would be big for selling the concept of the otherwise gimmicky controller.
Then I get EA to make a special team like it did for Street V3. Only, because it\'s realistic, I have them include Team EA Sports and Team Nintendo.
EA could have the Madden developers. Nintendo features guys like Miyamoto, Iwata, Fils-Aime, maybe Yamauchi. With bios on everyone. Mario could be the mascot.
This exclusive touch would be another big selling point for the title and the info and real life players would fit with Madden\'s realism.
It\'d also be easy to tack on quickly and Nintendo could provide EA with whatever it needed to do it for launch.
I\'d buy it.
