you have to share either certain folders or your entire harddrive, it defaults to read-only access which is fine if you just want to share some files.
In your control panel click on "network" then in that window look for something called file and printer sharing for microsoft windows. If you don\'t see that, click on the "add" button and add it to the list.
Below all of that there is a box that says "file and print sharing" click that box then check off both options of letting others access to your files and access to your printers.
You may need to reinstall the printer to print over a network. When you install the driver it should be an option of either a local or network printer.
