Revolution definitely not supporting HD

Nintendo really just needs to stick to software.  Make games on PS3, 360, whatever, but it\'s lack of knowledge & resources on the hardware side will hurt the company in the end.

Yeah...we have no fooking clue...Nintendo won\'t spill the damn beans.

That really does suck.  I\'m upgrading shortly to a 60" or 72" high def TV, and everything I buy is going to have to step up to match, and if it can\'t I won\'t spend my money.

I can see Nintendo going the way of Sega after this generation, perhaps staying in the handheld market though.

like going into handheld markets if they lost the console battle badly and perhaps become a 3rd party developers?....hmm, honestly i do feel a bit sad if that do happen, but at the same time, i do feel like Nintendo just couldn\'t compete and should make their games on other platforms, because i would like to see their old games like Super mario 3 and Mario World being remake for next generation in 1080p....the old fashion 2-D sidescrolling but in High Def running at 60 frames per second...

Ninrtendo stated they arent going for HD months ago.Their hardware they said will be inferior but the difference wont be much between 360/PS3 and Rev on normal TV\'s since they arent capable  at displaying high res images like HD TVs do.With other words they are hoping that normal TVs will hide the lack of graphical quality.

But HDTVs have gotten so cheap, I can\'t imagine that in another 18-24 months this won\'t be a big issue (Augh!  Double Negative!).  You can get fairly big starter HDTVs for less than a grand, and with all the major broadcasting corporations going to HDTV, it won\'t be long before nobody is buying a regular TV anymore.  

Nintendo is hoping/counting on something that isn\'t going to happen.

Cheap? Compared to the initial price of $15,000...yeah, $2000 is cheaper. But $300 used to be the going rate for tube TVs.

You can get an HDTV tube set for $400 at Worst Buy.

They have a 60+ inch 1080p HDTV for under 5 grand...and it looks damn sweet. Prices are definitely going down.

For the money it costs, I\'d rather get a PS3 + Revolution or all 3 consoles.

The HD wouldn\'t matter at all for me. I don\'t have an HD tv and right now can\'t afford one. For a lot of people, I don\'t think it will matter.

Even though I own an HDTV because my analog TV died out, I agree with what you said.  If your TV is still doing good, keep it because HDTV prices are dropping nicely and new and also improve features are always added, so like the saying goes "good things come to those who wait."
