Blu-Ray Release near?
« on: November 19, 2005, 07:59:26 PM »
I was reading this article, and apparently they\'ve completed their first Blu-Ray movie.  No news on a release date, but early next year seems likely...

Blu-Ray Completed
\"In the last 12 months 100,000 private sector jobs have been lost and yet you\'ve created 30,000 public sector jobs. Prime Minister, you cannot carry on forever squeezing the productive bit of the economy in order to fund an unprecidented engorgement of the unproductive bit. You cannot spend your way out of recession or borrow your way out of debt.\" - Daniel Hannan

Interesting that they uses MPEG-2 for their first movie instead of MPEG-4 or VC-1.  As if they move slowly which is a good thing.  Hopefully the sound is lossless 20 bits, 48 kHz PCM 5.1 ch sound quality or higher.

I wouldn\'t be surprise if this Blu Ray disc is single layer either...advancing slowly is good imo again.
