No agreement yet, but they\'re going back to work

Kinda too bad, had they stayed illegally on strike for another week or so, the city would have had no choice but to slip them and bring in emergency workers.  Ahhhh, well.  I have a feeling they aren\'t going to get even close to what they want now, with the public\'s sentiment so squarely against them.

A 3% raise is an insult.

I just got a 10% raise today and am content with that, but had it been less I would have been upset.

Though, I suppose the base salary plays a big part.

A three percent increase on a salary that doesn\'t allow you to live anyway is not worth it. But I don\'t know anything about these guys\' salaries or their cost of living.

starting salary is $35,000 and up to $55,000 plus benefits.  Definitly sitting comfortably in the middle class, and not working class, even in NY.  I mean, clearly they aren\'t going to live on Fifth avenue, but then very few do.

The real working class are getting the shaft with this strike.  Restaurant workers who can\'t get to their jobs.  Retail employees, and those in the service industry.  They\'re all loosing sales/commissions, and spending hours getting back and forth to their low-paying jobs.

35 grand to drive a bus doesn\'t sound like a bad thing.

and 3-4% is pretty standard.  Be happy you got 10%.  It doesn\'t happen in many places.

The strike violates New York\'s Taylor Law, which forbids public employees to walk off the job, but Toussaint argued, "We have pointed out that there is a higher calling than the law, and that\'s justice and equality."

What a tool bag, I hope they all get railed.  They make plenty.

I loved that quote.  They played it all day yesterday.

Justice and equality for bus drivers.  Oye..  Give me a break.
