so..do i have to play/beat ico for the ending to make any sense?

[sp]i get ico has the chick..and the little kid with the horns..and i read the village (dont get why thered be a village either) sent him away because of his horn, and the game is to live through the place that they sent u..but theres no connetion im seeing between the two games[/sp]

Only connections to Ico are...

There are also a few familiar symbols/structures, iirc.

They kind of let the players fill in the blanks whichever way they like. The Ueda interview at Eurogamers makes that much clear.

just finised the game last night..or more like early this morning..5:00 am......the ending kinda confused me....at first i thought that when all is said and done, this guy was tryin\' to save his mother or somethin\' because he turned into a baby and such,..but after reading the above posts,..now we\'re to believe it\'s a prequel to ICO?...hmmm at this stage i\'m not sure i can do ico, maybe some day, but when i finish a game like shadow, i probably won\'t touch it again for about a year.....it\'s a great game, but some of those giants stressed the s**t out of me!...
