Animated gifs should work. The only issue is that the forum has the max pixel size set to 120x120. If the animated gif is larger then the forum will resize it and save it as a PNG which will obviously no longer animate.

EDIT: as you can see I just uploaded an Ultimate Warrior one which is 97x105 pixels, so well within the 120x120 limit.

Well I tried posting a pic and its not working for some reason. It could be that it's not compatible with this version of SMF  :confused:

Ha. How'd I miss this. I was actually looking for a mod to do this last week or so (mostly for attachments though). It looks a little older and was said to be compatible for 2.0.6 and we are running 2.0.9. Usually they are compatible with each other but sometimes they don't work. This could be solved by someone posting an oversized image to see if this will work ;)
