Like any poll, it only captures the mindset of Japanese \'gamers\' within a very limited timeframe.

Although it\'s usually fairly predictable, sometimes small surprises do appear ; let\'s say for example if all of a sudden Xbox360 gains more popularity in Japan even if temporary. Of course, Madden is never going to be a system seller there.

So, yeah atm the Japanese show big interest in Wii ; but we all know they like their beloved franchises as well which historically appeared on the Playstation format and they love their juicy graphics. Japanese PS3 interest is inevitable.

Doesn\'t Nintendo hold a huge grasp on Japanese gamers? I think I saw sales figures of GameCube dead on with PS2, right? I know they did better there than here.

Uh not really. They are popular but not as popular as you\'re thinking. They own the portable market there by a large margin(like everywhere else) but I\'m pretty sure Cube was still a dinstant second to PS2 in sales there.

GameCube has sold pretty consistently in Japan.

Consistently below PS2, though.

Nintendo\'s GBA (and now DS) have the Japanese wrapped around their finger, though.

Much like the PS2/GBA dominated the US.

Eh, whatever. They\'re still kicking the pants off Sony in the handheld market. I think Nintendo will always be king there.
