Show of hands, how many of you dress up as your favorite anime characters for conventions like this one?

I spent some time today hanging outside by the convention center and getting people to pose for pictures. I got a Mario, a couple Links, an awesome Viewtiful Joe, a group straight out of Final Fantasy, a few girls dressed in full dog costume, two dudes who looked like sissy versions of the Blues Brothers and a couple others.

It\'s just camera phone pics so I can\'t share any, but the kid who looked like Viewtiful Joe was spot on.

There are all kinds of kids with spiky blue hair and fishnet stockings. Pirates, a Pikachu, a couple Indiana Jones, vampires, chainsaw killers, all kinds of cardboard broad swords, heh.

The convention lasts all weekend. A kid dressed as someone from Castlevania told me its the second biggest one in the U.S. Cali has the, I don\'t know, most ridiculous.

I like to dress up as that guy that gives shit to dweebs that dress up as game characters. My friends do too, its a pretty cool costume to be in.

Hey, check it out, through the magic of the internet, I got that pic of the Viewtiful Joe guy.

We finished the day by visiting a Harry Potter party at the Barnes and Noble. There were kids dressed as all kinds of characters from that movie. I took a pic of my girl posing with the prisoner of, I\'m not sure, Anskabar? We had some drinks before hand. I think she ended up being a little too friendly with the prisoner. ;]

I\'m afraid she\'s a little camera shy. Which is too bad for you. The convention is all weekend so she put on devil horns and a black skirt for work today. She\'s been turning heads, no doubt. ;]

Gotta be careful with the flash though. It spooks them. Don\'t want to be doing that when you have your dong in its rectum or else that could be a problem when he jerks all of a sudden.

Alanta has DragonCon which is just a massive event, I have a co-worker who has went to it every year since it started (I think). Not sure what event Cali has. I\'ve never went, though I do have plans on going to either Comic-Con or Wizard World next year.

Say what you want, but there is a lot of hot girls at these conventions.

You still have the flash problem though. Its not the camera or anything, the flash really spooks the goats. You have to make sure you\'re in a well lit area. Unicron taught me that.

years ago i used to go the comic book conventions in new york, but they didn\'t have nobody dressed up....and actually they were adverstised as comic book conventions, but almost always ended up bein a comic book/star-trek convention...with celebs from the old star-trek joints from the 60\'s signing autographs....
