MSN problem V2.0
« on: December 18, 2007, 04:19:35 PM »
a friend is having problems with her msn, when I send her links, it opens in the same browser window as the page she\'s viewing, instead of opening in a new one.

she\'s using windows live messenger and IE6.
is there anything in IE or MSN that can be done to force links to open in new windows?

sounds like IE, not MSN. I browsed through the internet options/advanced but couldn\'t find which one it would be.

in the mean-time she can always quickly open a new browser, then click ur link. Sounds like a pain, but after you get in the habit it becomes second nature. sometimes my IM does that when i format..sometimes it doesnt

that\'s what I was thinking, and I tried to do the same as you, but I couldn\'t find anything either even though I use 7 and not 6. I had her talk me through what she was seeing, but nothing sounded like it could be the problem.

not that I can see, there is an option that allows you to accept or deny links under the security section, but I haven\'t seen anything about configuring how they open when clicked.
