gayest idea ever.

i guess there arent any fatalities since DC comics don\'t kill, and they cant be the only ones getting killed in the game. so theyre just putting in finishing moves.

The announcement isnt that new. But I wonder how this will turn out. Mortal Kombat has lost its "shine" probably for more than a decade and seeing DC superheroes in it just doesnt seem right. I doubt this will appeal to me since the majority of DC superheroes never appealed to me either. A careful selection of DC superheroes and a good fighting system might pick my interest, There was one fighting game in the Genesis featuring DC superheroes that I liked a lot though.

I saw this awhile back, but refused to post it, because the gameplay looks like garbage....mortal kombat hasn\'t been good since prt2, after that the series just became real hokey...*tekken better be careful that it too doesn\'t fall into that hokey mode*....

True enough, but those fond memories of MK and MK2 were when we were a lot younger, and I think this game is going to get a lot of tweens excited. It may not be a great game, but I think it\'ll definitely find its niche.

And the idea of DC fatalities has me curious, heh.

The gaming industry was also young back then.

MK was a pioneer for many of us during the 90s. The characters looked real, the art direction was unique, and it introduced violence and fatalities like no other fighting game. It was even a fighting for hardcore gamers.

It was its first entry and an exciting one. But MK is old now and it doesnt look as "fresh and new" as it used to. It has a fan base but it is more for casuals. Now it sells because it targets that audience. Violence+MK+DC characters I am sure will sell. I find lots of casuals who get excited with MK and MK vs DC

the animation on the later MK series pale in comparison to Tekken, Virtual Fighter, Soul Calibur, and Dead or Alive.  Especially MK4 where it has the weakest fighting moves, and among the cheesiest finishing moves.  and later MK series had improve on those fighting moves, and graphic, etc...but still pale when compare to later Tekken, etc...

I wouldn\'t be surprise if this MK vs DC still pale in comparison to Dead or Alive 4, or upcoming Tekken 6, or Soul Calibur 4.

I think MK had peaked since MK3 or MK Trilogy where it still in 2-D form.  MK2 was the best, and I guess since they switched team, they did a halfway decent job with MK3 and Trilogy.  Then they switched to another different team when they developed MK4 in 3-D.  These lesser companies can\'t do MK like Acclaim did.  As if no team can do MK as great as Acclaim did.

I think some games should be left in 2-D where it originally was like Street Fighters, and Mortal Kombat.  Because when they were in 3-D, the game wasn\'t as good, as if something is missing.

nvm, i just googled Acclaim and noticed they filed for bankruptcy and they have quite a number of shady pasts.  I can see why Midway left them.
