Oh yeah, I\'ve heard of this guy.  There was a really wicked article about him in the Los Angeles Business Journal last year.

He\'s an opportunistic leech, but the fact is there\'s no government agency working to cite businesses for these violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Without any law enforcement, that leaves it up to individuals to enforce the law through litigation.  It\'s bullshit, but how the hell can a state pay for enforcement of a federal law that affects so many businesses?

You either care about the rights of the disabled (not this guy, but other normal people who suffer with daily impediments) and you pass a federal law and enforce it, or don\'t pass the law.  We bit off more than we can chew.

I guess he\'s standing up for his rights.

The point is these people should get warnings and 30 days to fix it.  Charging them a grand does nothing to fix the problem.  It just makes them a grand further away from being able to pay to get it fixed.

Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

What you\'re describing is a government enforcement program.  Warnings, deadlines, and fines are typical elements of an enforcement bureaucracy.  I\'m not saying there\'s anything wrong with that, but it would be HUGELY expensive.  The budget required for a state agency to investigate the hundreds of thousands of violations in a state the size of California would be enormous.

Small businesses will not make the necessary changes unless the law is enforced.  Someone, either the Federal Government, or the state of California is trying to get by on the cheap.

Okay, if this dudes penis still works, then I agree its a shady thing to do yeah your in a wheelchair but its not the end of the world.

However...if the penis is no longer usable then sue away. If that was me i\'d be miserable as hell and i\'d do everything I could to make everyone I came in contact with share a little bit of that misery. Even hard working small business owners.

So you see it all comes down to the penis.

whatever happened to fred?

did he lose control of his wheelchair going round a corner and end up paralyizing himself or something?

I miss the regular updates about his dying sister.

those were the days :)

There was another person cnn showed doing something a bit similar....this nerd would go around yelling at police officers and city officials who were breaking traffic laws....if they were parked in a no parking zone or in front of a bus stop, this guy would roll his handheld vid cam and yell that they were breaking the law....he would practically be yelling in their face...i\'m suprised none of the police ever actually arrested him.

In any case these guys are just screaming for attention....it seems like that this is what they do for a living and try to front like they\'re on a crusade to right the wrongs, but they\'re actually just attention whores with no life.
knowledge, wisdom & understanding..these are the basic fundamentals of life

if you can\'t amaze them with brilliance, baffle them with bullsh*t....
