I am so glad the students at UNC are mature individuals.  I thought liberals prided themselves to being open to all points of view... I guess all except those that oppose their own.  This is an embarrassment for UNC, and for what?

Why are we going to pay for illegal immigrants to go to school in this country?  Those funds should be reserved for say... US Citizens.  I don\'t think I\'ll ever understand why people support illegal immigration... it takes jobs and money not only from citizens born in this country, but from those who came here from other countries through proper means.

Anyway, here\'s the story:  http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/story?section=news/local&id=6761633

It appears the protest was a stupid over reaction.  That\'s what happens when 18 year old college students organize a protest without any experience or guidance.  They didn\'t know what the were doing.  You can\'t exactly say all liberals are like this.

I have no problem with Tancredo saying what he wants, and I have no problem with the protestors disagreeing with it.  Perhaps the University should have managed the situation a little better.  Maybe put the speaker in a bigger room, so protestors outside could not interrupt the event inside.  Certainly they shouldn\'t have allowed someone inside with an enormous banner.

This is not a liberal or conservative issue...i\'m sure both sides are guilty of doing something on this level and becoming a bit rowdy for protesting something they strongly believe in. Me personally...i\'m not for illegal immigration, i think folks need to come here the same way other immigrants from other countries have came.

Some of those folks have to wait years on end before they can come to this country doing things the legal way. So for those that are here illegally, hey i feel your pain, but you just can\'t jump to the front of the line and continue the influx of illegall immigrants and expect that it\'s not impacting the country on some level, especially in the immediate areas in which these events transpire.

I know people want to show compassion, but they need to show the same tough love they show to haitians when they arrive on the coasts of florida(which is something i don\'t  see them doing to theses illegal immigrants that come from mexico) is that they round them up and send them back to haiti.

I know these people are escaping a horrible and tough life in their native countries, and i truly feel for them, and not to sound like a jerk, but aside from having an influx of people with no identification, you also run the risk of a health crisis or outbreak, since alot of these folks from these countries aren\'t even appropriately vaccinated. Everybody just needs to be treated fairly and follow the rules to become a citizen here.

I guess helping those that are here illegally already find a path to citizenship is good(since it shows a bit of compassion) and these people are supposedly going to pay some heavy fines and such for going this route, but i still feel that those folks are spitting in the face of those that have come here by patiently waiting and going thru the proper channels legally.
