Developers or Programming section?
« on: December 26, 2000, 06:10:43 AM »
Hi!

I was just wondering why there isn\'t any PS2 related site with any information about developing your own applications for the console. The Europian version has a demo of YaBasic and that\'s that. I was wondering if there was room here to start such a topic.. just a thought...

Because not enough people know how to program in Basic, it probably isn\'t worth it to make a new forum for it.  Just go ask your YaBasic questions on the main forum or the off-topic forum.

I think you missed my point a bit.
The issue is not HOW to use Yabasic, but more to stimulate other talented programmers, level designers, graphic artists to tribute. Can you remember the Amiga? Why did it become the best multimedia system back then? Not because the commercial companies releashed such good titles.. it were the real fans who wrote the hardcore games that still are the base of game designing today. I still believe the expension and the growing of the PS2 console can only be achieved by postive input of the user him/herself. The way it\'s going now the PS2 is doomed to be a hype and nothing more... and we all know that a hype fades away... and legends are here to stay..

I\'m not a MOD, so I can\'t say.

But a few factors are. I don\'t believe there is many people interested in programming in this forum. Ybasic also has not been released anywhere else \'cept the UK to my knowledge. So, its really just a matter of limited interest. Another smaller factor is, there is already quite a few forums on this board. Another one, wouldn\'t be used probally. People would still just post the few YBASIC questions they had in the Main forum, for everyone would see it, instead of a forum where no one really checked .

So I see.. I\'m not the typical game player.. I like to work around code to make it happen.. I saw the gaming industry acyually growing a few years so I thought Iit would be nice how far the gamers (the people how are resonsible for my bills) were evolved, but nowadays the IQ dropped to sour thumbs.. I see it makes no point here to search for any real fanaticy, but\'s that\'s okay.. thanx for answering the question anyhow :-)

Yeah.. actually.. I have a question about some programming Indeed... When I click on a forum and I get:
"Warning: Too many connections in admin/db_mysql.php on line 31.. There seems to have been a slight problem with the database. Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser. An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists. We apologise for any inconvenience. "
on my screen.. Is that one of those programming points there\'s no room for here? grin ;-} You have to excuse me.. but two days of X-Mazz makes me wanna rant... Oooh btl:

Nice site & forum!  Keep it up plz! :-)

Advice: If you think everyones IQ has dropped. Don\'t hang around us. If you want to complain about the forum, find another forum.

Simple,eh?

Oooh? It thought it was a clear table driven connection error to a SQL database due to the lack of configuration adding a higher connection number on line 31 in the db_mysql.php MaxConnection=150 setting for the database engine.. Silly me.. it\'s just the server.. ;-}
Anyways.. It\'s a good thing the server admins are working on it :-) Sory that I posted it to you, but it\'s all worth to see your replies.. :-)  Happy new year!
