Who do you like in late night tv?
« on: March 01, 2010, 10:23:13 AM »
On places like CNN, the comments to Conan articles are digusting. All hatred toward Conan, toward Leno, and people who don\'t know what happened at NBC, even though it was reported as it went down...

Anyway, for me, seeing Conan go sucks. Nice to see in his last show he got choked up and the audience treated him like he was the celebrity that night. I like his immature sense of humor and the way you can tell he enjoys himself had me liking it too.

But, beyond him, my new favorite in late night is Craig Ferguson. He\'s hilarious and if he isn\'t mostly spontaneous, he\'s an expert at acting like it. He keeps the humor going through his interviews, too, which certainly don\'t come off like pre-determined bullet-point questions.

Letterman is a favorite, not because he makes me laugh out loud, but because of his personality. He\'s low key and has this kind of dark sarcasm. It\'s easy to relate to him and I\'ve always enjoyed the show for it. Paul Schaffer is underrated too, I\'d say.

Leno never did anything for me. I like Jaywalking, but mostly I think he\'s not at all funny and he doesn\'t seem very sincere in his interviews. I feel like he\'s been phoning in his performance for years, you know? He\'s much better on those car shows, where you can tell he cares about what\'s going on.

I don\'t watch much Kimmel, but he has a good show in my opinion. I never bothered to watch Fallon or Carson, is he still on?

Anyway, I miss Conan and hope he rebounds with something worthwhile.

Ferguson absolutely rocks.  I never really gave him a chance because it was always a choice of watching him vs Conan but now that I\'ve seen just 2 random, full shows I\'m already a fan.  The guy is goofy, has a great upbeat personality, and always seems to know what to say.

Letterman comes in 3rd for me.  He\'s a class act & naturally funny, and the current staple of late night, for me anyway.  Once he leaves it will seem like something big will be missing from the lineup.

Conan will always have my cute lil heart though.  No one else has his mixture of wit and physical comedy.  He\'s the people\'s host, the guy everyone could relate to when they were in college.

The show after Conan had his first baby, start @ 2:00

Forgot to mention Leno. I\'m also not a fan of his show but I have to give credit where it\'s due; he is the best at stand up. He\'s been doing it much longer than the competition making him a natural for the first 10-15min or so.

That said, his interviews are usually boring and don\'t feel genuine. He has a very hard time making guests feel relaxed enough to get them to come out of their shells. Can\'t count how many akward moments I\'ve seen on his show. He needs things to be scripted, and that just doesn\'t work for me

Carson died bro.
Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

Leno sucks ass.  I stick to Colbert or Daily show.  Or a little TiVo action with TOSH.O and some sentimental reminiscing of Reno 911.
I wear a necklace now because I like to know when I\'m upside down.

That\'s right, how could I forget about the CC line-up?

Carson died bro.

I was going to ask if that has affected his ratings any...

But then I realized I should\'ve been more clear talking about late night hosts! I was referring to Carson Daly on the So-Late-It\'s-Tomorrow-Morning-Show or whatever he hosts.
