Mafia II

Anyone try out the demo yet?

I dug it..the voice acting and story seem really good. The demo only had one mission, but it was pretty fun to go through it. The game kind of plays like brothers in arms, and takes a lot of ideas from GTA, so it\'s familiar. Also has one of the better collectibles that you need to find (.)(.) :D

Kind of worried it\'s only worth a rent though since I heard the story is pretty short and it didnt seem like there was much to mess around with in the world. But I had fun with it.

Quick preview for anyone too lazy to download the demo

I think it\'s only for PSN+ subscribers at the moment. I could be wrong, but that is the general feeling I get from reading posts on other forums

ah, yea I read that PSN+ were the only ones to get it for ps3. wasn\'t sure how long that lasted. If it\'s like xbox live, then it\'s like a week for silver members to be able to get demos

I got it on live btw..i dont really plan on ever signing up for PSN+ unless they have some amazing month of "free" stuff that comes with it

actually, it was uploaded to regular PSN as well, I downloaded it and gave it a try. I hope it\'s not going to be limited to the map I saw, it didn\'t look that big to me. also, the controls were all back to front. if you want to sprint, you have to press the L2 button, and to duck to cover, you had to tap X, so I kept pressing X as if it was a GTA game to run and found myself ducking for cover all the time.

too fucking annoying, I just wish all games companies got together and decided on a universal set of controls for each genre type.

don\'t think I\'ll be bothering with the game after my first impressions on the demo. I might give it another try sometime, it may sway my opinion, but as it stands right now, it\'s not a purchase for me, at any point, let alone a first day release purchase.

just played the demo twice, first time did the mission and completed it second time just tried to hit up various shops and restaurants/bars and cause some trouble.  Game is VERY impressive, outdoes GTA in many ways.  I like the serious angle the game takes and the voice acting/scenarios are perfect mobster material.

I won\'t buy it right away, but as soon as Steam has it 50% off i\'ll be all over it.

Can\'t you remap controls to match what you are used to from GTA series Cerb?

I had a look, and I couldn\'t find anything to remap them. it just gave 2 controller layouts, one for on foot, the other for driving.

I feel at home with names like Pino and Rocco\'s barbershop :D

Looking very nice, and game-play seems cool, solid; I\'m interested.  It could be short ?  I don\'t know much about this game.
He has the power of both worlds
Girl: What power… beyond my expectations?
AND IT\'S PERSONAL
Demon: No… the legendary Sparda!?
Dante: You\'re right, but I\'m his son Dante!
