Microsoft has today announced the official release date for Epic Games\' final entry into the Gears of War trilogy, Gears of War 3. The date is September 20th -- that is the global release date.

Gears of War 3 was originally scheduled to release in April of this year, but it was suddenly taken down for unknown reasons. Epic Games then stated that the sudden delay was not due to the game\'s development, but rather a business decision that Microsoft decided to make.

Rod Fergusson of Epic Games informed his followers on Twitter that there will be more ways of getting into the upcoming Gears of War 3 beta aside from purchasing Bulletstorm Epic Edition.

In some more Gears related news, a hacker has supposedly discovered hidden information regarding Gears of War 3 including names of campaign chapters, multiplayer map names and weapon skins.
