PC game- Amnesia: The Dark Descent
« on: October 20, 2010, 08:35:33 PM »
I was listening to something on epicbattleaxe, and they brought up this game Amnesia and were talking about is as if it were one of the scariest games out there.

I tried the demo, and I\'m really digging it. I havent gotten to any scary parts yet since its a pretty big demo, but theres a lot of foreboding shit going on that actually made me take my sweatshirt off even though nothing was happening, haha.

But they threw in this really cool concept of keeping your sanity. If you stay in the dark too long, you start going crazy and scary shit starts happening.

And clips might like it. There\'s no real attacking of the enemies, they said the main thing you have to do when you\'re in trouble is hide or run away, so its definitely survival horror (and new). Was glad I got a chance to hear about this game...now the debate of if I want to drop 20 bucks on it with assassins creed right around the corner

I\'d post a video, but i didnt want to watch them all to find the best one since surprise is part of the fun. But check out the demo

Downloaded the demo, it\'s cool, though my laptop here is pure crap and graphics can\'t be immersive.  The atmosphere is scaring, I\'ll try a bit more tomorrow. Nice find Viper, thanks.
He has the power of both worlds
Girl: What power… beyond my expectations?
AND IT\'S PERSONAL
Demon: No… the legendary Sparda!?
Dante: You\'re right, but I\'m his son Dante!

Yeah...i\'ve seen vids of this game and while it\'s in FPV, *something i kinda don\'t like*, the atmosphere is amazingly creepy and immersive...and i agree these types of horror games that are trying to stay close to their classic scary roots are dying rapidly and being replaced with action horror.

It\'s good to see that these independent and lesser known firms are trying to keep this genre alive....good lookin\' out Viper!!...:fro:...i would try the demo as well, but my pc is a slow-ass Dell pc that won\'t run anything...

if you can\'t amaze them with brilliance, baffle them with bullsh*t....
