The link above is about a lab test of the samsung 55" OLED TV and this tv was tested with black level of .00007 ft-L and their user selected white level of 32 ft-L for a total of 457,142:1 contrast ratio.  The white level can be raise up to 104.3 ft-L if user wanted to like if they watch this tv on a very bright environment like outdoor or sunny day.   No viewing angle problems, no motion blur - which lcd and led lcd has and mega contrast ratio which lcd lacks...its possible that oled could have infinite contrast ratio though.

So things are looking very good, actually great for oled tv and very promising too.  Some nitpicks are that it cost $9,000, curve screen instead of flat screen, a noticeable pinkish tint on the screen.  In the next few years, i think we will get to see more different sizes selection, from small to big.  Much cheaper price tag, and flat screen instead of curve screen.  they make it curve for first generation oled to make it look different in hoping it would sell well.  to me its more of a gimmick though.

LG also give a preview of their 77" OLED TV that has quad HD resolution and it will unveil at CES in january of next year, and its flatscreen 77", no more curve screen.  I think next year, we might have more screen size selection like screen smaller than 55" and screen as big as 77".

Does it do 4K? I'm waiting for 4K TVs to come out and drop in price. I have a 32 inch (or 36 don't remember) LED backlit TV I got from Best Buy as their Insignia brand a couple years ago when I was unemployed (figured if I was gonna be unemployed sitting at home, may as well enjoy it :) ) and its been going strong and looks pretty good. I want to replace it within a few years with a 4K TV.

if you read my first post, on my last paragraph, i mentioned that lg will unveil their quad hd oled tv on January 2014 in CES, quad hd means 4 times the resolution of 1080p, which is very similar to 4k.  it's also called Ultra HD.  The resolution for quad hd is 3840 x 2160p, and 4k has a resolution of 4096 x 2160p.

So, the answer is yes they have "4k" OLED TV coming out next year.  But if your tv is only around 32", having "4k" or 2160p resolution, you might not notice much of a different  between 1080p or 2160p for small screen sizes.  Depending on how far away you sit from the screen.

Ah. Missed that. They need to have one universal term. And if I was getting a 4K TV, i'd be betting one much bigger than 32 inches ;)

We have a 4k tv at work and I can't really tell the difference. It is a 50 inch though and I expect you will struggle to see any difference unless the screen size is huge. It is expensive though at £3299 lol

You won't see a difference until 4k content becomes deliverable.

It was running a 4k demo via a dongle supplied by Sony though and I still couldn't see a difference.

The 4K screens at NAB last year I heard were unbelievable.
