What is this PAL everyone is talking about?

Well, I prefer PAL so sue me!

As I stated earlier. NTSC is better for gaming (at least if the PAL games don\'t have a 60Hz option). PAL is better for movies etc. At least IN MY OPINION. So way to go Europe. BTW, I think the resolutions you stated are wrong, know-it-all-wanna-be. I can\'t remember the exact resolution of PAL, but I\'ll look it up when I get home. Stay tuned!

Propably u could get it but the to are normally not compatible. You\'ll need a converter. And you\'ll hardly get any PAL media in the US! We here in Europa get the NTSC media though (due to your military)...

Most newish PAL TV\'s have a NTSC option for hooking up NTSC consoles and stuff. They can also run at 60Hz so when developers put the 60Hz code in PAL DC or PS2 games we get them running at the same speed as you americans, but with a better picture and stuff. So now we get the best of both worlds!

I don\'t get it...

even If i got a PAL tv, I would need special software, and a converter?  To much work, I\'ll stick with the US one.

You would need a PAL TV, a PAL VCR, a PAL PS2 etc. Meaning that you can\'t use it even if you wanted to.

I am not worried about it, my TV manual says that when I use s-video it adds another 40 or so lines to the resolution.  And boy I can tell, so if I am using s-video (which I do whenver i can) I am getting the best of both worlds.

S-video doesn\'t add to the resolution. It \'just\' gives a better pic compared to composite.

I have one more question, I know that the red yellow and white wire is for the audio/visual, but can you buy anything that will be better than what they give you?

NTSC- 525 lines of definition, 60 Hz

PAL- 625 lines of definition, 50 Hz( but actually the Pal TVs have 50/60 Hz option so, if the developers make the adjustements, they could get the same speed/fps with better screen resolution)

They are similar systems so don\'t bother.
About your last question SyxxKorn, if you have a NTSC TV, the best you can buy is a component cable.


PS: If someone with a Pal TV is reading this, the best connection for you is a scart( 21 pins) cable hooked through the A/V 1.

okay, you wins.  (about the scart cable, it loooks kinda similiar somwhere between a RGB cable and parralel input/output.)
