Target Sorry for Phallic Star Wars Toys

Target has issued an apology regarding a set of phallic-shaped Star Wars toys that were spotted—and subsequently shared on social media—by one of its customers.

According to Pop Goes the News, a woman named Joni Jones contacted Target on Facebook last week, providing photos of a set of helmeted Star Wars: The Force Awakens pool toys that bear the tagline: "Fun in and out of the pool."

In her message to the retailer she said: "Are we sure these are children’s toys, Target? Looks a little questionable to me."



A Target representative responded to her post, saying: "We apologize for your disappointment. Occasionally, we carry merchandise that some guests may find objectionable, as was your experience. We never want to offend anyone and have shared this with our Merchandise team for review."

The post was later deleted, and Jones followed up to explain why she initially shared the photos, as she never explicitly said she was "disappointed" or "offended." Instead, Jones "found it funny and wanted to share with fellow ADULTS who could appreciate the humor in the whole thing."

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has brought with it an array of different toys and other merchandise. In fact, an official Star Wars EDM album was unveiled earlier this week.

What is even funnier is one of the commenters made a comment saying, "I bought a set of these for my girlfriend and she said she could really feel the "force"."
