cool. what do you think of the gameplay? have you beaten it yet?
After the phenomenal experiment of World that brought the series forward in many aspects, the next title appears a little "Undertone". The graphic impact is not the best, the online component is managed in a revisable way and the design of the levels is much simpler. But despite all these points, Monster Hunter RISE is probably the best title in the series in terms of gaming feeling and being able to play it with high frame rateson consoles is a real gift !
The game runs wonders with granitic frame rate and low input lag. Instant Uploads and the game gives you many graphics options, rare to see on console titles. The only flaw is obviously the graphics themselves, which suffers from it being designed for the now elderly Nintendo switch. Fortunately, however, the aesthetics of RISE is accurate enough to be able to remedy with very interesting and extremely well animated environments and monsters.
The game is structured on two parallel progression lines, one dedicated to single player, the other to multiplayer. Note, when you play single player you will come across monsters clearly designed for multiplayer. Obviously, the stronger you become, the more this problem disappears, but the fact remains that the idea of redirecting the player on two distinct paths is really the main mechanic of RISE.
A set of weapons about which I have some small reservations in comparison with World, it seemed to me that some weapons were made much more obtuse, inexplicable, moreover, the lack of the move list, perhaps worst problem of the game. A move list becomes superfluous after many hours of play, but for casual players it would have been perfect, by removing or showing it : it would have solved the complaints of the most avid fans.
Monster Hunter RISE fully embraces its oriental inspirations, giving a necessary breath of fresh air to the aesthetics and music of the franchise, while remaining within the canons of the series, from the theme of the village to the soundtracks related to the new monsters,
There are really very pleasant tracks, much more than the three or four incredible soundtracks of World, suffocated by dozens of others, very subdued. An element that surely can be seen as a defect is the difficulty. Monster Hunter RISE continues the trend started years ago, I mean, the average difficulty of the game seems to lower.
However, it's not a real flaw, since for example, many monsters seem to be more honest than in the past, in particular the hitboxes of RISE, although still not perfect, are the best in the series and this drastically cuts the amount of accidental deaths that went to complicate the hunts in previous titles.
Monster Hunter RISE is a good Monster Hunter, "World" fans may be stunned by the graphical downgrade and some steps back on the multiplayer side, but the gameplay improvements, unique aesthetics and the fluid gameplay feel will win anyone over. A good game.
