Madden Questions!

I just got Madden 2001 for ps2 and I have some questions. First, with regards to the madden cards, do you get a prize if you complete the set or should I use the cards. Also, how do you activate the cards that give you teams or stadiums. Secondly, and most importantly, I need help with my defense. I play with the Raiders, who have a great defense, but woodson keeps getting burned and my line cannot get any sacks if there lives depended on it. Please, give me any hints or tactics. Thanks!

Yes many of us, including me, have had the same problem with defense. I have Woodson on my team too and hes probobly the best saftey in the league and he always gets burned too. I don\'t know exactly why but the computer I guess lets your opponent caatch every pass and be open every play, no one here, i think, knows the exact reason why but it just happens, it pisses me off too but all I do is score 50= points every game to win. Or turn penalties off and play like blitz.

I just ordered Madden at JCPenney.com using the advice of someone on this forum. It was only $24.99. I hope to get plenty of help on the game through this forum.

As for the teams and stadiums, I think once you get the cards they automatically are included when you go to select either one. I\'m not positive though.

The pass defence against the computer is a lot better once you turn up the AI and chose the right plays.

Just go into the 3-4 defense and pick DOUBLE MAN...This is a great defense...You take control of the right middle line backer and make sure he has good speed...Then just guard the tight end if there is one or if there is not then guard the reciever closest to the middle on the right side...Every reciever will then be double covered except the most inside reciever on the left side...He is covered by the left outside linebacker which is a mismatch but the computer quarterback rarely hits him...Also you may need to watch the back coming out of the backfield to the right..they like to throw to him if he is open...Hope I was of help...ALSO..this Defense does a decent job stopping the run also...It is very helpful if you have 2 or 3 good linebackers...they are the KEY to this "D"...This is also a good D to pick when playin a friend who passes a lot...

OH one more thing....before the play push R1 to make your line shift to the right...this helps the DE get more pressure on the QB and it helps stop the run cuz your man will not get blocked as easy....Line your backer right in front of the REF..this will give you a chance to read the play and stop the run..You play a huge part in stopping the run...if you miss the tackle it is not good but usually the computer guys will help ya out..this helps the DE get more pressure on the QB and it helps stop the run cuz your man will not get blocked as easy...

First you got to create a profile.I forget how though.Then play the com 1v1 it should bring up a screen that says profile,Madden Cards or something like that.
