Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (Sony Japan) believes that the more than 4 million PlayStation 2 owners in Japan will be able to play games on the Internet as early as this spring.
Eight Japanese publishers and developers, as well as peripheral companies, have plans to bring their Internet-ready games to the PlayStation 2 this spring. These companies include Square Co., Enix, and many others. Using Conexant System\'s newest technology, Square plans to bring Final Fantasy X exclusively to PS2, and Enix plans on readying a Web-enabled Dragon Quest to the PS2, also.
