PS2 Gets Dial-Up Modems

Title: PS2 Gets Dial-Up Modems
Source: Game Informer Magazine
Conexant Systems has announced that Sony has approved its dial-up modem technology in order to provide the PlayStation 2 with Internet connectivity. This isn\'t the broadband bomb that we\'re all waiting for from the console, but game developers like Konami, Ascii, Square, Namco, Koei, Enix, and more have already signed up to provide online titles that will support Conexant\'s driver.
Modem makers such as Aiwa, Cadmus Micro, and Ascii should already start producing units for the PS2 based on the SmartSCM modem chipset in the current quarter of this year.
