DVD problems
« on: February 01, 2001, 08:22:24 AM »
Has anybody played Me, Myself, and Irene on your PS2?  I bought it last Tuesday and the middle section was all choppy. So I returned it THREE times since then and every single on of them has the same problem.  Is it the PS2, or maybe I just hit a defective batch of DVDs?  And no, the PS2 is not hooked up through my VCR, and every other movie plays perfectly.

Isn\'t me myself and Irene good? :)

I hope I won\'t have the same problem \'tho because I love the movie!!!

Choppy? For how long? The entire rest of the movie? few minutes? what?

It\'s your PS2, most likely.  What color is the back of that DVD?
This is America and I can still pay for sex with pennies

The back of the DVD is gold, and it wors fine for the entire movie except for 2 chapters in the middle, or about 30 minutes worth.
And that movie is damn funny  :)

It seems your having trouble with the type of dvd\'s your movies are recorded on .......Sony designed the machine in such a way that the PS2 thinks the gold cd\'s are re-writable and has trouble reading the second layer
If you take note of the other dvd\'s in your collection you will most likely see that the silver dvd\'s work flawlesly
This is a problem that sony never took into consideration when designing the system
I myself have taken the steps to try and look for dvd\'s only in the silver format to try and rid myself of the same problem
Who know\'s maybe when the official Sony remote control gets released the driver disc that comes with it may have a software upgrade to help fix the problem
We can only hope
