you just contridicted yourself, you said "SCEI is the gaming part of SOny"  Well MIRCOSOFT is a software company, that has a gamming divsion, for many years now. Matter of fact MS was making games befor Sony, on the PC. Listen i\'m sorry if my tone sounds harsh, that\'s the problem with forums, you can\'t tell how the person is saying it. But i love video games, regardless of wheather a company is making them for money.(what else would they be doing it for)

But SONY is NO Better than MS, I loVED the psx it was a great system, n64 just lagged for me. I loved the genises, but not the saturn, I think you get my point. But i see so many people try it make it look like MS is out there to destroy the video game industry, or how evil they are. I bet if SONY had it there way they too would want to monolpolize the indusrty, both are corperations, set out to make the most profit they possibly can.  

Though you need not worry nobody will monopolize the video game industry, there is just to much competetion, and if one party drops out, always another trys to squezze there way in.

I think the point that he was trying to make is that Sony wasnt a gaming company either. He is right (sadly). Sony is in it for the money just like MS is in it for the money. Its a buisness, not just a bunch of guys doing this so you can have fun.

Well Animal, besides horrible grammer, your flat out wrong. MS had a gaming arm already, just like Sony did. Until PSone, Sony was known for ****ty ass games like Dracula on Sega CD... the only game that was decent was Mickey Mania. Well, that\'s about were MS is, their gaming presence is some crappy PC games with a couple decent ones. Sounds to me MS is exactly were Sony was with PSone. Unfortunately for MS, the market conditions aren\'t quite as good for a new company entering, but if anyone can pull it off, MS can. Sony was a combination of smart, and lucky when entering the market. MS (from what I\'ve seen so far) is being smart. Let\'s just see if they can get lucky. How? PS2 keeps underperforming (and despite some gems coming soon, overall this looks to be the case), and GC\'s launch is botched, or delayed. Things happen fast in the game industry, and while YOU don\'t think MS can pull it off, they might be able to in spades.

Consumer electronics had nothing to do with video games until Sony steped in.  Maytag doesn\'t make video games and sony shouldn\'t either.  Sony made games starting in 1995 with the Playstation.  It was their first time making a console or making games for anything.

Microsoft was making games before the Playstation came out. MSX remember that? hehehehehe I suppose you don\'t... You were probably not even born... doh!  Microsoft sports even had some games like Decathlon and of course you know about Golf then there are the Microsoft flight simulators.

I will give you a hint... MicroSOFT is a SOFTWARE company and SOFTWARE can mean games, Operating systems, programming languages or just about anything else.

Sony is not a gaming company sony is a electronic company. They are not a gaming company. Sony can\'t make games. Microsoft is a software company that attempts to make video games. All Ms and sony is good for is consoles. Nintendo and sega are gaming companys they have strong first party development they no games. Developers no games ane sony and MS just make the systems. But Ms is gearing there first party team up. So we will see soon.

Looks like Animal lost this one. This is the same rhetoric that was out there when Sony started up. No Sony fan should be arguing that Microsoft is not about games because people were dogging Sony about it just 5 years ago.
