New OPS2 Magazine in UK...
« on: February 01, 2001, 07:20:28 AM »
The only new thing on the Cover Disk is a demo of Moto GP
all the other stuff that is on there was available on the
previous demo disks. I\'m glad to say tho\' that it\'s worth getting just for the Moto GP demo. Borders are simlar to TTT
and it runs at a constant 60FPS. The bummer is that you only get 1 lap at donnington but i think it\'s cool.
Just informing :D

Do you really think so far this mag has been worth the 5 pound price tag, I mean the editorial is pretty good, but the discs have been pretty rubbish and this months even tops the TTT only one.
To include only MOTO gp which hasnt been seen before is disgusting value.
Not only have the 4 other game demos appeared on the previous discs, also all the movie footage is the same that has been seen before.
You would have thought that over the month they could have accumulated some new or different footage of games for the videos section.

As a Subscriber to this magazine: im feeling dissapointed at the moment, the OPSM was great value and subscribed to that before, but at the moment i feel im getting much better value from PSW (playstation world) with its cover mounted DVD, featuring DVD movies of very good quality and of the things we are all interested in most, SILENT hill, GT3, MGS2. I no that they are not playable but at the moment they are giving me more satisfaction for nearly half the price.

Hopefully things will pick up soon for OPS2, especially with the promise of DVD coming soon along with GT3 playable and MGS2 playable, however you may notice this month that in features for next month section you will notice that they now have nothing listed for next months Cd (not that this mounted to much because since the first issue they have never filled the promises made for the cd), hopefully we will get more than we have seen so far!

PS2 for me, I couldn\'t agree with you more...
The PSW magazine has, in my opinion, to be the best uk Playstation 2 magazine out there.
Their cover mounted DVD\'s are quite superb. i am getting a subscription to PSW and maybee PSM magazine.
What did you think to that Silent Hill 2 footage? I remember when i had the 1st game, My wife was heavily
pregnant with our 2nd child \'Brendon\' And she sh@t herself :D
she watched the SH2 movie and those nervous twitches began again. hehe, i am really looking forward to that game.
The 1st was just so chilling. i would go as far as to say that i wouldnt play it if i was alone in the house. Damn those japs
know how to screw with your head

Stanzo, i thought the SH2 video was great just wait till the politicians see all that blood and gore though! (warping the kiddies arghhhh), only thing is SH1 was an oddball game for me, couldnt really get into it or follow the plot, especially as my gaming time is sparradic, mainly  a couple of hours a couple of nights a week, it just seemed to go nowhere, and i gave it up about halfway through, dont think the fogging gave me much of a thrill either.
Although i do enjoy Horror genre, I remember me and my mate playing resident evil one on Its release day, on my 28 inch tv, in the dark with surround sound hifi, having a few beers and playing it for sixteen hours solid through the night, damn that was a chilling night! Bit too used to all the Horror genre right now though (overkilled).

Still what did you think of the full MGS demos a couple a months back on PSW in full DVD glory?

P.S not worth subscribing to PSW unless you to lazy to go to your newsagent, because you dont get any discount!
