Chech this out(Xbox related)

I don\'t think this has been brought up yet.

What does everyone think about Microsoft including a V-chip device into the xbox. This will allow parents to disable access to games and DVDs with inappropriate content. Apparently this is historic because it is the first time the industry has voluntarily rated its own games and the first time a company has these kinds of controls directly into the hardware.

I don\'t like it.Sure it\'s a good thing that parents can lock the thing so there will be nothing unsuiteble for the young ones.But why would they let them buy it in the first place.And this will probly just add to the price.

Well, as I\'m so old as I am, my parents wouldn\'t mess up with the settings anymore... BUT my little sister could!

She\'s just so devilish... like me BHAWHAW...

but she could threat me if I\'m annoying, that she\'ll go and change the settings; of course this could be avoided by setting a password so... but still

I think the idea sucks. If I would be smaller! And I still think... because I remember the frustration of not being able to watch the movies my friends watched...

But there was this thing called "watching secretly"...

It seems more like a PR move on MS\' part. Parental controls exist in most T.V.s, dtv/satellite options, and I\'m assuming the good majority of DVD players. Now quite frankly how many people do you think actually utilize this feature? Regardless of the obstacles, one will find a way to circumvent them if they desire the reward for doing so.
I believe the V-chip issue is merely token at best, and is more of a liability issue to waive responsibility on MS\' part for any unforeseen incidents that some may attribute to gaming. I\'m sure we are all aware of the allegations, and finger pointing to the "death simulators" when someone decides that the solution to their problems, is to equip themselves with an arsenal and start shooting.

I mean oh parents will say I am getting you the console where i can block the bad games away from you. Or they just won\'t be bothered enough to take a game controller and block games. I mean if they don\'t want there kids to have them don\'t buy them if your old enough to get a job  and can buy your own games then this v-chip won\'t matter and if your too young to get money to buy your own games then this v-chip won\'t matter because your parents won\'t buy you the games. In any case this v-chip won\'t matter.
