SCART? Aren\'t those the equivalent of COMPONENT? If so... component provides the best picture for your TV..

The BIGGEST leap though is from COMPOSITE to S-Video... the hop from S-video to Component are minimal @ best... I personally can\'t tell little diff....

I\'m using the CHEAP S-Video... not even gold plated... are you guys sure the MONSTER makes a big difference? Because I\'d be shelling out an extra 20-25 dollars, I wanna make sure it\'d be worth it... I\'m a fanatic w/ S-Video because my TV.. even though AWESOME, has no COMPONENT (1990 :( ) ... thanks for any input on the

MONSTER S-Video vs. 9.99 S-Video by PERFORMANCE

Thanks! :)

Just wondered what the difference is between monster cables and the gold plated official s-video cable?

What about the difference between the Sony PS2 S-Video cables $26.00 and the Monster ones? Has anyone tried out these two for comparison?

Seems like a lot of people have the same issues at hand here...

I guess that the main questions that are arising are:

"What is the diff between the non-gold plated 9.99 s-video cable from Performance to the MONSTER S-Video"

"What is the diff between the gold plated official Sony S-video from MONSTER S-Video"

I\'m sure somebody out there has this information or has seen this first hand to give us an in-depth analysis... hope he shows up soon :)

ok ive seen the gold plated and the non gold plated in action, and i think it is only really noticible if you have a hdtv.  if you have a hdtv then you have to get the gold. otherwise, nah.

gold gives you great sharpness... i think the gold platedtransmits better,  monster cables run my family\'s entertainment, and we use um for dvd, and i think they are great. they wont ever break , a great cable. i think they are worth it. in not saying the difference it huge, im just saying its noticible while playing TTT.

but again, i wouldnt suggest it unless you have a hdtv, cuz i cant see the diff unless it is on on

all in all i would only buy the monster cables if they are competive priced with sony\'s, otherwise, dont spend more than 5 $more on the monsters, than the others.
IM BACK. you have a problem with that? get in the back.

Ok we\'ve talked about this numerous times before (especially ddaryl) but here\'s my review.  I have both the $9 Interact Performance S-vid cable and the Monster Gamelink 300 S-vid cable.  The only noticeable difference is the tiny tiny tiny reduction in dot crawl with the Monsters.  Only the trained eye would notice the difference imo.  This does not warrant the purchase of an overpriced cable, especially just because the Monster name is on it.

All of you who say there is a dramatic difference with the 3rd party cables and the Monsters are probably either telling themselves this because you spent $35 on it or you have a defective 3rd party S-vid cable.  It\'s just not worth it; you\'re paying for marketing.

What he said:D

Depending on what kind of TV you have you wont notice much of a difference at all. If you are playing on the Sony Sh1tbox 5000 don\'t think that any special cable is going to give you a great picture. If you have a good TV mostly all of the cables will give you a really good picture. Don\'t believe the hype. Only the gold printer cables are worth the money.
