Problem With Dvd Movies
« on: March 15, 2001, 02:29:21 PM »
i have a ps2 connected with a SONY WEGA 32" (16:9)
KV-32FQ75D with Euro AV Cable from SONY.

When i try to play a dvd movie the tv aspect ratio option in the dvd menu is choosed by default 4:3 PAN SCAN.
The problem is that i can\'t change that to 16:9 WIDESCREEN and as you understand the picture is very small in the middle of the screen with big black borders up and down of the screen.
The manual says that there are 3 options :

 4:3 Pan Scan
 4:3 Letterbox
16:9 Widescreen

When i go to DVD MENU and try to change TV settings there only one choice 4:3 PAN SCAN and never change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tryied with a friend\'s TV Hitachi 16:9 and i haven\'t this problem. Now in the dvd menu in TV setting you can change the in 16:9 WIDESCREEN.

Why not with my TV who is SONY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE HELP ME I\'M DESPERT ...............

Hello Despert.  Have you tried stopping the DVD, then setting the camera size?  That\'s what I have to do on my Zenith.

Also I guess you know not all DVDs support all video sizes.
This is America and I can still pay for sex with pennies
