MGS2 Demo
« Reply #15 on: March 24, 2001, 10:55:31 AM »
I wasn\'t aware that the demo featured different levels of difficulty. I don\'t know where you got that infromation from.

Also, I said" kind of", I never said it WAS 3 minutes I said it "kind of" is because you can beat in within three minutes. So the demo truly only offers 3 minutes of game play.

IGNPS2 only skipped the intro and one other cut-scene if I\'m not mistaken, which couldn\'t of been too enormous. Either way there can\'t be much depth to it because its only a demo. Most demos get old fast.

why do you always have to act so negatively to everything, do you like to have enemy\'s?

I don\'t always act negative. But I just found it weird that faston thought this was the best game ever even though it was a freaken demo.

EDIT- I don\'t care anymore, say what you want but i aint wasting my time in this thread no more. Carry on.

It\'s a demo of the PS2 game of the year.

Well sorry, you couldn\'t be further from the truth.  I don\'t konw where you saw that IGNPS2 beat it in "like 3 minutes" The demo IS 5% of the final game.  So unless they can beat the final game in 60 minutes flat, the demo is much longer.

I\'ve talked with many people whom have talked with Hideo Koijma himself.  Don\'t try to trick the trickster.

"So is it any good then? Quick answer: Yes. It\'s very good. In fact it\'s so good that we could write an entire book about it. Which is pretty much what we\'re going to do over the next few days. Here in part one we\'ll be describing the events of the demo and will be returning tomorrow and the day after to discuss the plot and give you a real in-depth look at the in-game features." -DailyRadar UK

*sigh*

Everyone here can back me up when I say IGNps2 beat the demo in three minutes because WE ALL SAW IT.

Game of the year? I doubt it considering the demo is 5 % of the game. But seriously, that an unproven thing right now. There will be tons of great games released this year and MGS2 will be right up there with them but may not be the best.

Now, please look at the sig. I\'m officially done in this thread. If I reply again then I want someone to shoot me.

Look if some one thinks it is going to be game of the year, then let them think it,i think it will be too, from what i have seen and played of the demo that is only 5%,it is great, and i will not get bored of it either,i get bored of games quick, but i dont feel that i will with MGS2.
And also if people are getting that much enjoyment out of a demo, then i think that is great, and you shouldnt nock it.
Also so what if they beat it in 3 mins,i could beat it in 3 mins if i wanted, that doesnt mean there is only 3 mins of gameplay, because you can take different routes, through the ship.
On the 15 of March 2002, i was going to leave these forums for good.
But on the 16 of March i realised i couldn\'t ever say bye to you guys, so i am staying here for good!

hey, when you guys are done with the MGS2 demo can you let me borrow it? or sell it for a small fee?

I would love to be playing the demo, but don\'t have the cash for Z.O.E. since I just bought Onimusha.

Thanks,

My little brother finished the demo in 1hour and 49 mins.
I completed it in 48mins!

Jumpman: If you run THROUGH it all you might finnish it in 3 mins. But thats not fun, I want to sneak, use stealth and so on!
And shoot at the glas, bar, pipes, cameras, plasmaTV ect.

A site (swedish) previewed the demo (because you really cant review a demo) they said something like "This DEMO is more deep, fun, better looking and detailed then most games on the market, you\'ll have alot of fun with this!!"

I will prob. not get tired of this game in the first place.

MGS2 DEMO RULEZZZZZZZ!!! Better then most game (if not ALL, on any system!)

3 minutes, so what!
« Reply #23 on: March 24, 2001, 03:39:05 PM »
maybe it is possible, who cares.
Fact is this is the one of the most impressive games I\'ve seen in a long time, and anyone who skips the intro to beat it in 3 mins is frankly missing the point. (its just awesome) The demo is there to be explored, its packed with enough features to put most games to shame.

It does not offer 3 minutes of gameplay, it offers you as much sneaking/shooting/hiding/finding etc etc as you want.  Have you even tried the demo, 3 enemies? wheres that from?
Skipping the cut scenes is like FF a movie, its entirely missing the point of a game like MGS2.
After trying the demo I have little doubt it will be the one to beat, I havnt spent more than 10 mins on ZOE yet (which is also stunning) because the demo is so good :)

Even though I still have played the demo (sometime in april), Metal Gear 2 wont be the greatest game ever.

That spot is taken by Super Mario 64. Even today im still amazed at the graphics and control of it..
I met him 15 years ago, I was told there was nothing left, no reason, no concious, no understanding and even the most rudamentory sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong, I met this 6 year old child with this blang pale emotionless face and, the blackest eyes, the devils eyes, I spent 8 years trying to reach him, and then another 7 trying to keep him locked up because I realised what was living behind that boys eyes was purly and simply evil.

ok god damn it, i will take jumpmans side on this one:

INGPS2 BEAT THE GAME IN THREE MINUTES!!!!!!!

the demo is not 1 hour long ok, i belived that as well for a while till i read the article, the only reason it would one hour long is bacuse of all the exploring and checking out all the things you can do! they way ign beat it was they ran past all the charatcers directly to the end, bada bing bada boom! they didnt explore they doidnt bother doing crap, they just ran.

so if you dont just run past everything it wont be 3 minutes long ok!!
\"So are you going to kill her off?\"
Are you insane! I love her character, she stays.
\"The only thing loves done is put you in this position, I say kill her off!\"
Yeah, but you say a lot of things..
and how does that work....  You\'re a bicycle..
