No seriously, those shots are REAlly nice. I also prefer the Doom 3 shots. The models in Doom are effing incredible.

Just wondering how the power of the ge force 3 will handle it with fsaa ?

The developer commented awhile back that unreal 2 coud NOT be done on ps2 in its CURRENT state. Maybe if they alter the engine (ie:texture handeling) ps2 could do landscapes like that easily. Just look at smugglers run, it has great draw distance. Unfortunatly thsoe pic are from the high res pc version, so it will never be better on any console (including xbox)

This game will change the face of Arracus.(DUNE) Cant wait for UT 2.

but alas, I dont think FFX will be running, or jumping, and shooting in real time. PS2 could handle this, I am sure it could. I don\'t see why not. I dont think PS2 could handle X-Box in its current state, it just looks reaaaally high end. Who knows, no developer has really had a chance to crack the system yet. and now that Sega is on with multi processor exp. we may see a port by them. Hey, stranger things have happened.

I would like to clear up one thing, any of you out there that says the psx2 could handle UT2 i have one thing to say"""WAKE UP""" AND SMELL THE COFFIE, it ain\'t gonning to happen.  Psx2 will have some fine games, but i feel that xboxgames will be smokening, that\'s not to say GAMECUBE won\'t have any.

Have you ever seen GT3? I dont see anything on XBox orGC that even looks remotely close to the detail and scope of the game, sorry, bud.

I am pretty sure PS2 could handle it.

Those pictures are incredible - and I loved the atmosphere on Unreal, and would buy Unreal 2 too - but the thing is, that my computer is way too dated. I should buy GeForce 3, new Processor, much more hard-disk space, faster cd-rom-station etc. etc. - in overall - a whole new computer, and it\'d take about 2000-3000 dollars to get one.

I don\'t know what kind of plans my father has - but we\'d have to save over year if we\'d like to get a computer wich could run Unreal 2.

Some people have really deluded themselves with respect to the opposing capabilities of the Xbox and PS2.  The PS2 can\'t handle this? It certainly couldn\'t handle a straight port. But, designed from the ground up, it most likely would look as good, if not better. It\'s a shame that gaming has been tainted by fanatics with lofty expectations (Xbox) and bitter cynicism (PS2).

I think back to the initial release games that came out with the PSone and then look at games that came out later.  I have faith that the PS2 is going to keep improving (new releases are already looking much better than the initial releases) for another 10-12 months.  We haven\'t seen what the PS2 has to offer yet.  If they do a proper port to the PS2, Unreal2 has the makings of one of it\'s best games.

Unreal 2 has huge landscapes with amazing texture detail... If it was barely able to do UT,. it will be that much harder to do Unreal 2. Then again, if they made it from scratch on the PS2 (rather than a port) it might be possible.

** For the record Marl Rein (VP from Epic) said that Unreal 2 was impossible on PS2.

Rumors hinting that Unreal 2 is in development for PS2 are also unfounded . "That would be impossible," stated Rein. "Unreal 2 could not run on PlayStation 2.
