This Needs to Stop.
« on: April 05, 2001, 05:40:31 PM »
I think we need to solve this problem about people posting non ps2 threads in the main
forum. We have talked about this before and yet none of the mods really made an
announcement to solve this problem. Jumpman also tried to solve this problem by
suggesting an new forum where you can post news about the other consoles...but the
mods said no. So if we cant do that then we have three choices to solve this problem...

1. All non ps2 related threads goes in the console debating forum( this includes
comparing picks from games on two different systems etc...)

2. Only allow non ps2 console news that is not a bash into the main forum ( why allow
this anyways, u know someone is going to disagree with someone else in the thread and
start a war.)

3. Or just allowing things to continue the way they are right now.

What do you guys think about this? All I know is that no matter what the solution is, I
think it should be posted in the main forum with the topic saying "Announcement".

I think for the most part , it is fine the way it is. Though, no matter what "rule" you establish there will always be the stray topic, as in a pro-xbox or anti-ps2 thread in the main forum.
Personally, I think the MODS do a excellent job of monitoring what should be in the main forum and what shouldn\'t.

Ummmm Cellicel what the hell are you tlaking about

1st of all mods are not on this board every single minute of every single days so some threads sneek in for a few hours

2nd I can tell you right now Aaron, Samwise and myself are constantly movine and deleting threads. I don\'t think you realize how many off topic threads or flame topics I move or delete because they are done before you realize it

I am simply stating that I have been seeing a lot of X-box news on the main forum. I have
seen a few topics by the same people posting x box news and they either get closed or
moved. Then next week they do the same thing again. Its like they dont get the picture on
why their topic keeps getting moved. I was just simply making a statement , Im not saying
that you are not doing your job(judging by the comment you made). The mods are doing
an excellent job on moving and closing topic\'s. I know you are working hard thats why I
posted this topic. People need to start being their own mods and relies where their topics
are supposed to go.

-Never mind though, Its no big deal.

if individuals start getting nasty about how they post stuff in the main forum I\'ll ban them. But if they are just sneaking in an Xbox post here and there I\'ll slap there wrist and move the topic.

I think most that needs to be said has already been so. But if people post Xbox threads in the main forum we usually move it to console debating - as that is the best pick for a suitable place for that kind of threads. But it\'s not ideal and some times there might be an off-topic/bashing thread in the main forum, but we move them as soon as we can.
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAPETIME!
(thanks Chizzy!)

Ummmm, the best way to discourage those kinds of threads is to not respond to them at all.  We all should well know that pissing and moaning just brings more attention to the problem and thus proliferation of the very thing you\'re discouraging.

Ignore it and eventually it will go away.

Hehe... not necessarily... at my forum, the mods are so bored, we play edit games (against each other, of course)... we\'re just well-behaved children:D

And... I\'m glad to be back!

I agree with Dolby Tone. I say we just ignore them, dont "piss and moan" about it and when these pain in the butt people keep posting those annoying ps2 unrelated topic, we sneak over to their houses in the middle of the night, ring the doorbell, and leave a flaming bag of poop on their porch. Now if that doesnt solve the problem, I say we just nuke them to oblivion.
....Oblivion...droooooool... :D
Oro?!?
