Curious aspect of FF: The Spirits Within
« on: April 11, 2001, 01:52:38 PM »
Okay, we all have heard so much about this so I\'m just going to cut right to it...

Will there be the ultimate bad guy?  Just like in all Final Fantasy games?

It just wouldn\'t be the same w/o a big bad guy!
Hopefully this is going to come out in the movie.  If it doesn\'t it will be slightly disappointing.

If the story ends up crap I won\'t care too much though.  I\'m willing to spend $8.50 just for the amazing CG work alone.

Please don\'t fail me Squaresoft...

Square is doing an excellent job of keeping the plot from the public.  This is a good thing.  Even though I don\'t want to know what happens before I see the movie, inevitably, just cause I want to see it soooo bad, I\'ll look it up on the internet if I can.  From watching all the trailers in a row, I\'ve come up with:

A) The army isn\'t evil, but they might be on the wrong side, or do "evil" things to get what they want.
B) There are multiple aliens, probably at least some are benevolent (the one in the doctor?)
C) There are... uh... less benevolent aliens, including some very powerfull ones, which seem to enjoy dismembering us puny humans.  Probably the "boss" evil guy will be some alien they wake up...

I think it goes to the fight between reality and dream - and the fear of being \'shut\' down.

I saw the trailer in a theater last friday, and it totally blew my mind. I have never seen something that is so beautiful ( well, if compared to the small computer-screen and then to the large theater-screen... ), so realistic looking, so powerful...

I will definetely go and see the movie for the CGI alone, heck with the plot - and if the plot is good, it\'s better, but this is the first movie I don\'t care about how the plot will work out :)

And not so many months to wait anymore!
