A game I\'m lookin\' forward to...
« on: April 12, 2001, 10:22:18 AM »
Now here\'s a game with potential:

Alone in the Dark for PS2

If it can live up to my expecations of any game in that series, it will be an amazing game.  The screenshot looks pretty cool too, all dark and forboding, with nice rain effects.  Proving again that gameplay and originality are the key, the first Alone in the Dark, with it\'s blocky EGA graphics, still gives me the *shivers*....

"What the..." *Joyda slaps his sleepy head*

This came out to be a complete surprise! Alone in the Dark... for PS2. One game that I must buy *Writes the name to a list wich is already too long*

Alone in the Dark. One of the scariest games ever - the horror classic wich I still play on PC sometimes - the game that gave me nightmares when I was younger. It STILL has the tightest, most frightening atmosphere ever - and no resident evil can beat it, IMO. If this new AITD can revive the old magic and atmosphere...

It is going to be one helluva ride ;)

I spent two hours today playing AITD (the original) ... it\'s graphics suck, but wow.... What a cool game!  :sconf: Then I got a hankering to play some MOO, but I can\'t get 600k of dos mem with a boot disk, so I gave up.  :rpissed:

There is not enough info in that article... I wanna know if this is being made by the same company?  Designer?  People????  If it turns out some third party bought the rights, and is planning to "leech" off the AITD series success then this will probably end up a big bust :(.

If nebody comes across some more relevant info on AITD for PS2 then PLEEEEASE post it here!

I\'m getting the DC version unless there\'s reason for me to believe the PS2 version will look better. So far there isn\'t.

I\'m glad you felt it necessary to actually post this. The game was announced, of course there no information to sway a judgement on which version to buy

If the game is a straight port then naturally there will be no reason. ANy game not rebuilt from the ground up to run on the PS2 is waste IMO

My main point in my original post was that I liked the game. I\'m sorry if my DC leanings took center stage, but I like to say anything pro Sega when I can....

I would prolly get the DC version too. Just for the sake of the DC.. since there aren\'t too many games coming out for my now dead and buried beloved Dreamcast, I try to get what I can out of it. The only thing that would hold me back from getting the DC one is that I hate that damn pad. I\'d rather play it on the Dual Shock.

The DC is cool machine, only meat heads start arguments to belittle it.

But positive press won\'t change its fate.

Like I mentioned better to talk about the game and its good points / bad points then to announce a version over the next when there is nothing to really base it on but hunch which leads to debate, and with what info I have seen I believe your hunch is the right one
