KBtoys used to exchange things without a receipt, so if you can find one with a PS2 in stock you could exchange yours for a different one.  I\'m not sure if that is KB\'s policy still, though.

I have the same problem now it sucks.  After I finished playing DOA2:HC yesterday I put in the MSG2 demo and it went back to the broswer screen then it spent like 2 minutes reading it and said Disc error.  i tried 2 more times and got the same thing.  Then I tried SSX and got another disc error:( This really sucks ZOE works in fact all my DVD\'s and DVD games work well some games after a few tries but my regular(blue bottom) games dont\' work even my old PS games don\'t work.  What\'s wrong!!!!!!!!:(
This happen to anyone else?????? Please give advice My friend\'s laughing at me now.  He\'s a die hard nintendo fan.

Hey Krillinx, there is nothing else you can do.  I don\'t have the cash to pay Sony for repairs on mine for the same reason right now because of everything else coming up at the end of my senior year (prom, trip, etc.).  It just pisses me off.  Sony is screwin\' over so many people it\'s ridiculous.

All that I can say is that I feel for you.  I am kinda stuck both ways though, I am almost completely out of gaming because my sound system on my PC is no longer working now, and for me it is very hard to play games w/o sound effects and music, MY PSX got runover by a car (long story), so the only game that I can play is ZOE.  While ZOE is a great game, it can\'t be the only thing I play.  I have a DC but I\'ve already played every game I have wanted to to death and the only game I can see playing again is RE:Code Veronica.  My N64 is just a dust collector now.  I am tired of all the games now, maybe I can just play Conker\'s BFD...

In other words,  I AM OUT OF GAMING FOR A WHILE!!!

I feel for you  Krillinx

I\'m calling up Sony tomorrow just to yell at them for all of the problems with the launch systems.  Maybe I can find a factual statistic on the systems or get some quotes from some phone tech guys and take the info and somehow threaten to get this broadcasted on the news about how Sony is crewin\' people over.

If I can figure out how to do this maybe Sony will fix my machine for free...HEY, I can dream can\'t I........Stop day dreaming buddy...ahhhhh!!!

Find a store that has some PS2s in stock.  Open it up, make the switcharoo, and return it to the store and say it didn\'t work.  :D

I\'ve only had one prob with my ps2, when I put in a psx game (I forgot which one) it read disk error then I restarted it and it worked....... Sometimes I get the feeling mine is gonna break down too...... So I\'m trying to be careful, like I put a shirt over the top when I\'m done playing (so it won\'t collect dust) Also another prob....... Does this happen to anybody: When I play a ps2 game that has DVD on the back of the case, I see the background lines blink or I should say move.... I think it only happens with white letters or white lines? Has it ever happened to anybody?
.... take the skin and peel and back...

now doesn\'t it make you feel better?

Well I found my receipt and took my PS2 back to Electronics Boutique and they looked up the info and somehow lost their copy of my warranty so I had to buy a new warranty at $31.00. They exchanged the PS2 and gave me a brand new one so the problem\'s fixed.  But I think it\'s sony\'s fault theugh because of that stupid laser.  How smart was it for sony to make one laser that reads both CD\'s and DVD\'s that puts a lot of strain on the laser.  But still I doubt that could have messed up the laser so quickly.  The guy at the store said that he\'s recieved a lot of returns with the PS2 because of them being defective.:(
