Yup, racing is so much more intense. In GT2 you\'re basically only racing against the track - the other cars are basically drones, it\'s not like they ever try to stop you from passing them and even if they get in the way you just out-brake them into the next turn.
In J&L the opposition AI is really agressive, they won\'t budge an inch, not only do they cover the racing line they improvise and constantly try to block you, and each other off. Not to mention if you bump into them they\'ll get pissed and come after you. It\'s great fun, and in J&L you really feel like you\'re
racing against worthy opposition, and yet at the same time you do have to worry about pushing the car too much and spinning out of control, as well as worrying about the damage. Oh yeah, you also race against
11 other cars rather than the paltry 5 or 6 in GT.
Some of the most fun races are ones where you end up finishing 6th or 7th, but you\'re car is completely busted up and you basically spend the last two laps checking your rear view mirror constantly and fending off those trying to pass you - you get a real sense of accomplishment, rather than in GT & GT2 where, by comparision, races feel more like time trials on a course against Sunday drivers rather than actual races.
If you\'re interested here\'s my review, it\'s long, but thorough. At the time I still felt perhaps GT2 was better, but months later there\'s only one racing game I still play:
