NO ONE, and I mean no one can match a soundtrack that EA puts up for it\'s sporting titles, excluding GOLF, and NHL.

NFL, NBA have the best music inside a game that I have ever heard.....Something that Sega Sports has not been able to do with there NFL2K, and NBA2k series.  This is something that should be taking seriously by Sega Sports, if they want to match hip-hop with there 2k series.

HIP-HOP with sporting titles ruleeeeeee, if GT3 only had a nice descent soundtrack, instead of that ROCK crap.  NBA Live 2001 had the best soundtrack of them all, damn I love that intro music.

You know this is actually something that\'s pissed me off about the NBA Live series for several years.  Yes the music they include is usually good, but the fact that they use ONLY hip-hop seems pretty short-sighted.  I don\'t hate hip-hop, but I like other things too.  Not every basketball fan loves only hip-hop.  I think some metal tracks would have been nice because I DO think they go with the NBA every bit as much as hip-hop does.

BTW I have the same complaint about the music on ATV Offroad Fury, which has only rock/alternative music.  A little rap or Ska would have been cool.

Hip-Hop with B-Ball just sounds perfect, I love there songs.  But like you said not everyone likes HIP-HOP with B-Ball, but I do not like metal

But Hip-Hop music will go good with Gran Turismo 3 as well.  Right now, hundreds of thousands of drivers go crusing in the streets bumping some hip-hop joints, gives you that feeling of a cool laid back ride.  I actually believe it\'d be better for it over alternative music, because we\'ve been hearing that on car racing games for over a decade now.  It\'s ok, I got my CD player hooked up to the same speakers that my video game sound effects extracts out of, so I could play any CD and still hear the game.

Think yourselfs lucky, I hate both genres, I like rave but thats never included in video game music. However im not really fussed and prefer music to go with the game than music I personally like.

Did you even play NBA2k1? It does not have hip-hop songs but it does have beats andsamples playing in the main selection area. And it has hip-hop in the intro.

Tony Hawk 2 had one of the best game soundtrack ever IMO. It had tons of rock and alternative and it had my boy Mos Def on there. Very diverse.

i said this in another thread, but the best game soundtrack is on "thrasher: skate and destroy" that has some excellent tunes on it. but i hate game where they have metal, or techno tunes. tony hawks is superb. maybe when the hard drive is released you could save songs to it and get the game to play them or they should do a thing where you choose what type of music you want to listen to in a game, i.e rap, rock....etc etc :D

Good post. :)

I agree with you on both parts.

I didn\'t like the TSAD soundtrack as such but it did seem more commerical and could have been more catchier than THPS if I played the game as long as THPS.

I also think selecting a music genre is a good idea. Look at Metropolis Street Racer on the dreamcast you can select different CDs for the incar CD player or different radio stations which are local to each area and play different tunes. It was genius.
