Sony confirms tentative E3 line-up

The first of the big three has confirmed a preliminary list of titles to be shown in LA next month: you can’t afford to miss this

Sony has issued an initial list of the games it is to show at E3, the Californian games expo that begins on May 17, including first talk of a game based on the stupefyingly good looking upcoming animation Disney movie, Monsters Inc. The company’s booth this year is the second largest in the show only to Nintendo, with over 100 products being displayed on the stand. What follows are the PlayStation 2 titles to be published by Sony through the rest of 2001 and into 2002 to appear on the showfloor:

Ace Combat 4
Air Blade (working title) - Criterion\'s PS2 game
ATV Off Road
Dark Cloud
Drakan
Dropship
Formula 2001
GT3
Klonoa 2
Monsters Inc (Disney-Pixar’s new film)
Project Y - Working Title
Getaway - Video (TBC)
This is Football 2002 - Working Title
Time Crisis 2
Twisted Metal Black
WipEout Fusion
World Rally Championship 2001

Air Blade? Criterion refused to comment on the title today, but the fact Sony has decided to pick up publishing honours shows instant promise. Other never-before-confirmed projects on the list include Monsters Inc and the almost inevitable This is Football 2002.

As reported by CVG last week, Studio Soho’s massively ambitious crime thriller The Getaway is extremely unlikely to be shown in playable form at the show, but at least you’re going to get your first look at Project Y. Crash Bandicoot developer Naughty Dog’s first next generation title, according to insiders, is incredibly impressive, but you’ll just have to wait for more on this.

Dragon fantasy Drakan and futuristic combat title Dropship will both be shown playable for the first time. Both are developed internally by Sony in the UK and have been under wraps for well over a year now.

Sony was quick to point out that this is a preliminary list, so expect more announcements in the run-up to the show.

Looks good can\'t wait to see the unknowns, and even video Getaway will be cool

Can\'t wait to see Project Y and Criterions  Air Blade as well as the rest of this list

I think the PS2 will stand tall, but there should be equally cool things from GC  and Xbox as well

I think the Gcube will win over E3, just because it will be the first time they show playable demos.  Of course if those demos don\'t live up to what was shown at Spaceworld, it could be a different story.  But, the ps2 line-up is very strong.
