SEGA slowley shifting away from the PSX2

Not as if it wasn\'t expected, but none the less not such hot news for PSX2

http://www.coremagazine.com/news/4151.php3

One of the main problems with the PlayStation 2 is the cost of development, especially Sony\'s kits which are 2 million yen ($16,500) each. As a result, many companies have 5-10 people using the same kit for their games. That\'s why there are so many B-class games on the PlayStation 2, it\'s terribly inefficient."

Comming from a software company like SEGA, I take this very serioulsy. I f Sega knows one thing it\'s developing games.

PS.....Slowly not SLOWLEY

Well, they are releasing the linux dev kits now, 1000 beta units in japan.  Those are what, 200 US?

Maybe we\'re seeing a shift to an easier/cheaper devkit, and in turn even MORE 3rd parties may end up coming in.

Then again, SEGA developing less for sony is a bad thing for the PS2...

No biggie, that\'s only one of Sega\'s internal development teams and I think they\'re only making Xbox games...

I think I noticed a patern of Sega\'s development with other consoles. Look where their teams are currently doing.

AM2(I think this is right)- PS2(VF4)
Sonic Team- NGC(Sonic 3)
Smilebit- Xbox(Jet Set Radio Future)
VC=all.(sports series)
Hitmaker-all

Does Sega want each system to get their very own Sega developer? Porbably not, but I\'m just pointing out what could be the case. Its still an interesting observation though...

NGC gets the best one...;) j/k or am I?....
