I have just read from psx2.com that polyphony digital has admited that a lot of GT3 players have complained about the game not working properly on their machines. It isn\'t a problem with the game itself but because they packed so much data onto the disc, and with the deteriation of the dvd laser that the ps2 uses, people haven\'t been able to play the game. The poor japs have to pay $100 to get their ps2 fixed to play the game! This is pathetic!!!!! More from the site! check it out.
If you need help,
I will be there for you my friend,
I will never let you down.

No, it´s "only" 75$ and it´s because the first gen of lasers used for the DVD where... well... "produced in a hurry"...

This is a problem, that won´t show up in Europe or the US... (I hope)

I had a bit of a scare reguarding my MGS2 demo. it usually works fine and no pausing inbetween loading
but i tried it the other day and had some major noises from the drive i also couldn\'t get pass the intro. i just left
it for a while as all my other games were working fine and i went back to it a couple of days ago and hey presto.
Its working fine now. I\'ll keep an eye on this just to see what it could have been.

yes thats it! first gen lasers are used. I have a japanese SCPH 15000 (with DVD protection against  the hack). I have never ever experienced any skipping, or other problem on my CD, DVD games, Music cds, CDRs (with music) DVD movies etc. So I have to wait and see......
