XBox Billboard in Los Angeles
« on: May 14, 2001, 12:33:41 PM »
On Sunday I saw a billboard on Sunset Blvd for the game Ultimate Fighting Championship: Tapout.  At the bottom it said "Coming to XBox this Fall."  Can you believe someone is already spending big money on advertising for an XBox title, when the hardware won\'t even be available for seven months or so?  A billboard on Sunset is not cheap let me tell you.

There used to be a PS2 billboard on Beverly Blvd for the longest time, but I think it\'s gone now.  I remember being surprised that one, but not nearly as surprised as I am by this very early XBox hype.  I suppose that E3 probably has something to do with this, but that part of Sunset Blvd is pretty far from the LA Convention Center.  They must figure on hitting the general population with this advertising as well.

All roadside boards seem useless to me...  Then again, it\'s got us all mentioning a game that I hadn\'t previously even heard of, so there must be at least something to it.

Quit *****ing. SOme of you fanboys reach for new ***** material more and more every day. PS2 did the same thing with Silicon Magazine longer before X-Box did. I wouldnt care to notice, but I am willing to bet my life that PS2 was in every other gaming magazine too. and SOny probably paid for it...gasp!!!
