First, online play.  Absolutely a must, no ifs, ands or buts.

Second, I love immersive outdoor areas in my games.  Nothing like a good dungeon crawl, but, seeing as I am kind of an out-doorsey type, nothing pleases me more than seeing a believable outdoor area.  I would love it if developers could create a game with night and day cycles, complete with a real-time, real shadow casting sun, along with weather patterns and cycles of the seasons.  Imagine a RE game set in a city that spans the course of a few days.  Straight outta a Romero movie or something.  I understand that GTA3 takes a step in this direction, but I would like to see more RPG\'s take this route.

Third, and a this may be a little outlandish, but, I want to see a vast majority of games running in 60fps.  No less.  In the next generation of consoles and the much-touted power they possess, developers should be able to accomplish this task with some effort.

I dunno, maybe these aren\'t as realistic as I would hope, but, it is a  wish-list after all.

What do you guys hope to see more of in the future?

I also hope for more complex and lifelike (or even better, fantasy) outdoor environments. To be able to stand on top of a high cliff and see thousands of birds flock above a lake and catching fish sounds nice. You could also see miles into the horizon and travel to any target visible. Also more fluid and lifelike animation is a must (Jak & Daxter seems to be doing well in this respect).

............anyway....

i would like to see more games with the GEO MOD feature as shown in RED Faction.

there is something spoiles a game more than being able to hide behind a indesructable wall that will protect you from.

Rockets
Missiles
BFG 10K Blasts
Remote mines
Nukes
etc etc etc.......

Playing RED FACTION WAS a very refreshing change to the normal First Person Shooter\'s

Yes! YES YES! That\'s what I\'ve been ranting about for the last half of a decade ooseven! All the environments should be deformable in real-time. For example, a Final Fantasy summon would be better used in a desert or in the middle of a large field, because any surrounding scenery will be totally obliterated (imagine what Bahamut ZERO could do to a city, ouch).

Well... maybe that\'s a bit too much to ask. Anyways, I want to see more interaction between characters and their surroundings.

One thing about indestructible scenery that\'s just ridiculous; indestuctable plants! For god\'s sake! If you\'ve played Time Crisis (the original) you know how irritating this can be. There\'s a silly potted plant between you and the 2nd boss, and all your bullets are deflected by the leaves! I can\'t stress enough how annoying little details like this can be! At least in MGS2 you can shoot and destroy the plants! My soul screams for retribution! Die you plant-thingy-you! *goes crazy with the SOCOM*

How about this Hawke for a Final Fantasy game.

You summon a Fire and Water creature at the same time, and that attack, Fire with Huge Fire Ball and Wter with Tidal Wave, both shots combine and the fire super heats the water turning it into STEAM, the STEAM WAVE hits the enemy Causing far more dammage that jst the Fire ball or tidal wave alone.

the game should alow all elemental Summons and magic spells to do this was well as magical weapons.

Possible examples

EARTH + WATER = MUD SLIDE
FIRE + WATER = STEAM
FIRE + ICE = WATER
FIRE + EARTH = MAGMA
EARTH + ICE = CAVEIN

etc etc etc.........

yea what i think they should do though is have a game that would implement my face into it - i mean its is suppost to have been done long ago and even recently they talked about it but it seems to happen

but also i would like to see more factors in racing sims - have it to where everything that affects your car will

say wet ground or rain or something like that
more realistic weather would be cool
This Sig is a Work in Progress.

PERVERTS :D

I forgot about Geo-mod ooseven.  Damn, what a fool I was to forget about it.

I imagine with the HDD on the way we will be able to customize games with more than just our faces.

We can probably put in our own voices and catch-phrases.

Imagine blowing up hordes of Ultor guards with a rocket launcher and blowing the smoke from the barrel, all the while grinning your own grin, and saying something like, "Eat flaming death, pissants!" in your own voice.

Games certainly should become more customizable in the future, thats for sure.

Here\'s an idea I had for Final Fantasy, posted about a year ago somewhere else.

People are saying that FF needs some innovation?

Here\'s my plan to revolutionize battles.

Throw away the ATB. We won\'t even be using menus and commands. This will be true, real-time fighting, with interactive backgrounds and plenty of physics. All battles will be set in a Powerstone-like environment. It will obviously have to be closed in to some extent. You are fighting in a forest. The battlefield will be 3D, and you can maneuver yourself anywhere in it. There may be a stream running through the field, trees here and there, bushes, maybe even a small copse. The actual fighting would go this way: Obviously if it\'s realtime, you can only control one fighter, the computer (or other players:)) would control the other 2 or 3 you have with you. You and your enemies would both move toward each other. If you have a sword, you have to get in close to your enemy to fight him, if you have a spear, not as close, and if you have a bow and arrows, you can snipe from a distance. To actually fight, you would press an attack button, but your enemy is attacking you at the same time, so sometimes you\'ll have to push a block button to try to prevent taking damage. Also, you will have a stamina bar, which will decrease as you attack and restore when you are not, which will prevent you from backing an enemy into a corner and thwacking away mercilessly. When your stamina runs out, you have to retreat and catch your breath for a few seconds. Even if your stamina is gone, you can still attack, but you won\'t be able to attack as frequently or with as much power, and you will be slower to move and block as well. If you or your enemy is struck in the back, you will take much more damage. A magician will have to find a safe spot where they can concentrate long enough to case a spell. Getting hit will break the concentration, and they will have to start over, so mages will want as much protection as they can get. Also, the higher the spell level is, the longer range they could manages, etc. The more injured you get, the slower you become, but you get more powerful (your fear of death is raging your strength), but you are less focused and thus your accruacy is lowered (bad for magicians)

You will also use the terrain to your advantage. Let\'s go back to the forest. You might try to knock over a tree to hamper your enemies\' movement, or to squash one. You could also climb the tree to jump down and attack an enemy, which would do much more damage, but is harder to do and leaves you vulnerable if caught. If you have archers, positioning them in a tree or on a high cliff would increase their accuracy (FPS mode with factors like wind and physics involved!). Or, you could jump into the stream. Say you are fighting magicians. You jump into that stream, and you are underwater, fire spells will have no effect if used against you, however, lightning spells will damage you more heavily, or a high powered Ice spell could trap you down there for awhile, damaging you and effectively removing you from the fight temporarily. There would be other things, if you knock an enemy into a rocky wall hard, the wall might collapse in him and kill him. You could have a float spell that would protect you from the hazards of the environment (and Quake spells), but the wind would move you around, and a strong wind spell would blow you off your feet.

Weltall- You had a lot to say and I agree with you but think about it wouldn\'t the game be a little too hard to the point where you just want to destroy the game? I mean unless you don\'t make the AI very low then the AI would almost be smarter than you!
.... take the skin and peel and back...

now doesn\'t it make you feel better?

No, the basic idea is just like the one used in Tales of Destiny and even better, in Star Ocean 2. Think about those ideas applied to mine, and you\'ll have a better idea of how this would work.
