You might want to try Pilot Ninarou 2 or aka "Let\'s Be A Pilot" game, this is by far the best military/commercial flight sim game on the ps2.

My Impressions:

Gameplay:

If only i had a joystick, landing would be superb. The aircraft controls corresponds to the real planes.Maneuvering the T-2 jets on the runaway is a breeze, the physics are quite detail as you can even drop the fuel tanks on training missions. The best part is that there is a replay camera to let you view your stunts from 5 different angles.

For example ,i just got bored listening to my backseat instructor\'s command and i just pull my own stunts such as flying through clustered tall buildings and going through the "REALISTIC" fog of clouds. Its so realistic because when you are flying ,one part of a region is in bad weather and the other part is sunny.I\'m close to unlocking a new plane and if you are the patience type, you will love this game.

When you are flying ,you can pan your head around to see ground structures.I think you have to collect money to
join further courses and access of new planes and the only way to do that is to choose some millitary or commercial missions like seek and destroy or search and rescue.I am still early on the stage, just finished landing mission.

Graphics:

Realistic, the draw distance is amazing, you can see the brightly lit runway from hundreds of miles away even when the island is hardly visible .Texture is good enough but im more interested in aircraft physics and this game got plenty. The buildings are detailed too and when you are flying nearer above the ocean, you can see the water details. One sight which is a must see is a mountain
with dense clouds.

Sound:

Realistic, your pilot will breath in heavily during tight turns and make a relieving breath when you recover from that tight turn. The engine sound,if you pan your head backwards the sound gets noisier.

Anyway if you have the patience and a core Flight-Sim fan, this game is your dream on the ps2.I\'ve just spent 4 hours with this game.

I have finished all the military trainings and at the stage of buying new aircrafts and "mercenary" missions.

This game\'s physic is fantastic,in one of the last training mode,my right wing hit a \'target\' balloon and it was scrapped off leaving me with only one
                 wing!

After about 10 training stages you are able to select weapon pylons for your aircraft prior to the mercenary mission. You have to consider the optimum
pylons because if you are thinking of having 2 fuel tanks and 2 AGM and 2 sidewinders, you will degrade your plane performance for too much weight .

During the mercenary missions you are given 1 or more friendly escorts, which could be random jets. The flying enemies are worthy opponents,it takes
a lot of practise to evade those missles.

After every mission,i like to watch the replay because its just like in the movies. Its cool watching how the missles misses your jet by a meter, you can
also watch through anybody\'s view, its just awesome watching 1 Phantom and 1 Tomcat taking off together and do dogfighting with migs.

Even more exciting is to see my phantom goes through a barrage of anti-aircraft cannons and absorbing damages to the engines and hydraulics.

The last campaign i played was even more interesting, escorting B-2 bomber to drop cluster bombs on an enemy\'s airfield.

For now i have only obtain 2 fighters and i have not even start the "commercial" training yet. This game is huge.
