You know it reminds me of the old days when VF1 came out in the arcades, I was like hey guys look at that game, Man is that cool how they move. Yes the characters were blocky but did that game ever blow me away or what.

DOA2 I thought was good, at the time, but so far I have seen nothing that beats the Gameplay and depth of SOUL CALIBUR for the SEGA DREAMCAST....."SEGA"

You\'re saying VF3 is a \'button smasher\' and that Soul Calibur is a game with depth? Not that SC doesn\'t have depth but it is 10x the button smasher VF3 is.

Which then leads you to button smashing. But that is half the fact seeing that most of the moves take too long to master and are not that rewareding seeing the rate of speed the game moves.

The \'button smashers\' will have their @$s wiped across the floor from the VF3 pros. The game is slow, I\'ll give you that, but \'mastering\' a character is rewarding enough.

Then when finally finishing the game there is nothing but Dural that is opened up.

The fun of VF3 is the challenge from one player to another, not going through it. Then again, isn\'t that the same with most fighting games?

VF is no kiddy series. the object of the game is not to be able to master with ANYONE. The point of the game isn\'t to UNLOCK characters. Fact is...when you get down a coupe dozen of the literal thousands of moves, you can then see that VF3tb is a QUICK game, maybe too quick.

DOA2 can be b utton masher easy after you learn to juggle. Simple as that.

TTT, sideste then do Law\'s cheap ass 3 kick or whatever the hell else you can mash out in the time it takes Tekkens merry-go-round backrounds to catch up to your character.

VF games have never been mashers. Fast or slow (subjective of course) you still have to MASTER a character to not get green barred every time.

The differences that DOA3 and VF4 will have:

1) character list.

Tecmo will probably have hidden chracters, pus 3 or 4 new guys. VF4...2 new guys. doa3 will have the larger chracter list, while VF4 will have a MUCH higher combo list.

2) skill level.

button masher vs. game-that-makes-newbies-piss-their-pants.  VF4 definetly has the edge here. Unless of course you are a pansy who likes to get tired of games in the first 24 hours.

3) sales.

I guarantee in the USofA, doa3 WILL sell 3 times as many copies as VF4. Quote me on that. Americans overall are more impressed with jugs and grapics than gameplay and skill.

I disagree.  It all depends on how well the Xbox sells.  I think VF4 on the PS2 has a great chance of selling more than DOA3 on the Xbox because of the userbase of the PS2 will probably be way bigger than the Xbox\'s.

Well I disagree Doa already has to proven to be a much better series of fighters in gamers eyes, because they flock to doa more than they ever had to VF. I think hardcore VF will love the game. I will be getting the game, but most ppl find the game over packed with the long library of moves that are in most ppl eyes to difficult to master.

And I was not trying to say that VF was about ending the game, but damn after going through all that time of mastering a couple of moves for your guy then get to end and only one sorry character is opend up. Well that sucks.

I think VF is a good series but fact shows that it is not as popular as SC,DOA, and Tekken.

DoA3 hasnt proven ****.  DoA1 was pretty popular but wouldnt have been without the big boobies bouncing beautifully.  DoA2 was a pretty good fighter and has brought some recognition.  But it has not PROVEN itself by any means.  I think the only reason DoA2 got any hype was because it was up against TTT, which was good, but lets face it, not breaking any new ground here.
