Xbox vs. Gamecube

Which system do you think going to be better in the long run.  IMO X box is getting some big 3rd parties games like onimusha, doa3, oddworld, halo, project gothem, and many more.  I\'m not knocking nintendo cause there 1st parties game can hold there own against almost anything Ms has.  To me its looking like ps1 vs. n64 again.  With xbox being ps1 with all the 3rd party support and easy to program, for while nintendo has the strong 1st party support is aready know to fans.  So xbox seems to be getting bigger 3rd party games than gamecube which is a good sign for xbox.  What\'s  your guys opinion on this?

the xbox wont be able to compete with the gamecubes user base.

granted, it will appeal to the mature gamer

Egad mm, your sounding like a broken record. A crappy one from the 80\'s at that. GC doesn\'t have a userbase yet. Neither does XB. You can\'t accurately predict either, unless you know something the whole industry doesn\'t. Do you? I didn\'t think so....

MM must be possessed or something.  Usually he seemed to be unbiased and logical, but now he sounds like a...*GASP* f*cking fanboy.  Ooops...I better be quiet because Hitler, er, MM might ban me.
When all is said and done...the PS2 will be remembered as the console with the best games in Fall 2001.

But I forget gamecube comes out in japan on sept 14, 2001 so they will be getting a head start on  xbox.  As well as the U.S. gamecube will be out 3 days ahead.  So this ought to be interesting to see how this comes out.

GC of course.  XBox has to battle directly with PS2, and I think, at best, XBox will split the mature market with PS2.  That leaves GC all by itself, so it has a guaranteed piece of the market.
It seems as if the people [casual gamers] that we consider to know absolutely nothing are the ones that actually know the most important thing: Name brands don\'t make the console, games do.
