Whoa, Jet Set Radio coming to ps2 and gamecube!!!!?!?!?!?!
« on: June 18, 2001, 08:06:28 PM »
"Earning rave reviews from nearly every publication on both sides of the Pacific, Sega\'s Jet Set Radio was a critical success if not a commercial one. Despite garnering attention for its stylish cel-shaded graphics and outstanding soundtrack, the game virtually bombed in Japan and fared little better in North America. Nevertheless, developer Smilebit is pushing on with the sequel, Jet Set Radio Future, set to appear on the Xbox and other console systems. (Peculiarly, while trademark issues reportedly forced Sega of America to change the name "Jet Set Radio" to "Jet Grind Radio", the company has been referring to the sequel only as "Jet Set Radio Future.")

"While Jet Set Radio Future will be released on the Xbox first, it\'s important to note that the game is not exclusive to Microsoft\'s console - a fact Smilebit has gone to great lengths to emphasize. In other words, JSR Future should find its way to the PlayStation 2 or GameCube sometime after the Xbox debut"

bad news. I dont think it will go to PS2, because of it\'s weak memory. Thats what Smilebit said about the first game. They will have to butcher the game to get it on the PS2 Even if PCS2 and GC get JGR, it will be a stripped down version. Besides there\'s no official announcement, only some website propaganda.

Also did anyone else read that artical basically it says that they can bring the francise to any console, but no where in the artical did it say the game was currently in development for any other system. i says that it will get to these other consoles later on.

Why would that make me angry? I have a PS2 and (soon) GC. The more systems it\'s on, the more people that can give this underappreciated game a try. That\'s good for Sega (my favorite 3rd party), so I\'m all for it. How odd that you assume I\'m angry because I pointed out that no where else mentioned this...

The GIA is a pretty respectful site, but it is strange that they\'re the only ones reporting this news. IGN or Videogames.com usually has this kind of stuff before anyone else... Nevertheless, if this is true, it\'s good news for both Nintendo and Sony fans.
