Final Fantasy: The Sprites Within?

Clever topic, no?

Ok, the first Square film is going to be released in less then a month to a general public and in my opinion, I have a feeling it\'s going to seriously bomb, but that is not the issue of this topic.  First of all, as the topic header suggests, I want you to pretend that the new Final Fantasy movie is going to be made at your discretion and done however which way you want it made.  Here\'s the catch though, it has to be done following the plotline of one of the previous Final Fantasy GAMES.

So, what game would you model the movie after?  It\'s going to be done beautifully in CG with the cast unchanging (except of course maybe clothes every now and then) and some nice celebrity voices added in.  Remember now, Hollywood movies, especially those done in full CG generally make it to the 2 hour mark MAX, so keep in mind that you\'d have to cut plenty of sidequests and subplots.  You may even need to cut certain relevant characters to advance the story more evenly since too many people make a general audience confused as to who they should be following the most.  In addition as an added bonus, cast the movie as well exploying your main characters with different voice talents.

Personally, I\'d choose Final Fantasy VII because I feel that story is just as epic as any, even when you cut many of the subquests.  I think Vincent and Yuffie could be cut out altogether, but everyone else is too relevant to the plot to remove.  I can imagine MANY glorified scenes from that game brought to life with plenty of "knock-the-wind-out-of-ya" tension as most huge blockbusters.

Cloud ~~ Leonardo DiCaprio, took me about 5 seconds to choose, great actor, would perfectly suit the role

Aeris ~~ Katherine Heigl, could pull it off, has the innocent, sweet look...sometimes

Tifa ~~ Alyssa Milano, hottie, and would suit the role

Cid Highwind ~~ The guy who played the pilot who saved the day in Independence Day

Cait Sith ~~ Chris Rock, Steve Buscimi, Joe Pesci any of them...or Paul Reiser reprising his role rom Aliens  

Red XIII ~~ Ronald McDonald (actually, id probably cut him)

Yuffie ~~ Natalie Portman

Vincent ~~ Gary Oldman

Esther ~~ Lisa Kudrow

Sephiroth ~~ Tom Berenger (Platoon) Robert Patrick is good...no one could do it, hes too evil.  Gary Oldman maybe, but he fits Vincent better, IMO...ill change this if i think of someone good

Rufus ~~ Jay Muir (sp?) (Mafia, Jerry McGuire)...dunno why, just see him playing it

Cloud (seriously) ~~ Brad Pitt (he actually IS a good actor)

I\'m pretty sure alot of people will say FFVII... yes I am one of those people. I choose FFVII because (imo) I felt it had the best storyline out of FFVII-FFIX. I\'d keep Yuffie though, why? just because. As for the casting, this is going to take me a while.

Cloud - Mel Gibson (if you dont know what movies he\'s been in , then you\'re in big trouble)

Caith Sith (the guy controlling the doll) - Steve Buscemi (Armageddon, Desperado, Billy Madison)

Yuffie - Charisma Carpenter (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel)

Red XIII - no idea

Sephiroth - Jason Isaacs (Armageddon, The Patriot)

Okay, well I wouldn\'t want the movie to be just like the game as I already have those characters and their imaginary voices set in my memory after that great game.

Instead, I\'d like to see a spoof/comedy that closely follows the same story, but with a silly twist.

Come on now you guys know everyone of Adam\'s characters are the same person with a different stoopid voice and Eddie murphy would play every character in a movie if he had enough putty and face paint. Besides there movies almost always do well. Just another sign of the apocalypse I suppose.
